UK - Huge fire rips through Grenfell Tower, Latimer Road, White City, London, June 2017

I can't believe she never attempted to meet any of the families today she is totally useless.
Guardian/Polly Toynbee:

Theresa May was too scared to meet the Grenfell survivors. She’s finished

Precise blame comes later in the public inquiry: we are all overnight experts in cladding and sprinklers now. But political blame spreads right through the Conservative party, with no escape on offer. This goes far beyond the precise shockers – the Tory MPs who mockingly rejected housing regulation; the cuts to funding to councils responsible for retro-fitting fire suppressants; the disregard of coroner’s instructions after the 2009 Lakanal House tragedy; and even the plan to opt out of EU safety regulations. Conservative Kensington and Chelsea council allegedly blocking its ears to tenants’ well-founded anxiety is just the immediate scandal. But this event reaches far deeper, to the very sinews of its party’s policy.

That tower is austerity in ruins.

Everyone in hospital has been identified so if anyone is still missing they're dead.

[h=1]'Hero of Grenfell Tower' caught four-year-old girl 'like a rugby ball' after she was thrown by mother from 5th floor[/h]
attachment.php

The four-year-old is safe and uninjured after a brave man called Pat, who lives in a low-rise block next to the tower, caught her “like a rugby ball tucked in his chest” from the fifth floor.
“The mum had the little girl’s head wrapped in a towel and was holding her out of the window and was screaming for help. The fire was raging like crazy. It was about 2am and the flat was filled with smoke
.
“My neighbour Pat, who’s in his 40s, was calling up to her shouting, ‘Drop her, don’t worry I’ll catch her’. The mum was screaming, ‘No, no, I can’t, I can’t’.
“Pat kept reassuring her and then the girl just dropped. Everyone’s hearts stopped as she fell. We were all fearing the worst.
It is thought Pat got injured while helping people from the tower and was treated in hospital.

Why prejudge the outcome of the public enquiry.

Or is it pitchfolk and flaming torches time?

Feelings are running high, with many stating similar thought. I don't consider it premature judgement, simply hope that there will be legal accountability.

It's glaringly obvious errors of judgement, wrong decisions, call it what you will, have occurred here.

I totally agree. When people have burned to death including young children aged 5 and under those responsible need to be held accountable. I'm glad the people in London are protesting in the streets right now over this horrific tragedy. The protestors have entered Kensington Town Hall according to Sky News U.K.

The news is covering the Town Hall Protest people are understandably very angry. People are demanding to know whether their loved ones are dead or alive and they want proper accommodation not sleeping on the floor of a sports centre.

What?? They have not been put up in hotels or b&b's? WTH is wrong with that council?

No that would cost money and I would imagine the hotels would not want the people staying in their lovely hotels, just incase it annoyed paying guests. The victims who have suffered terrible trauma are sleeping on the floor in churches and sports centres and it is totally unacceptable. They need a safe and quiet place to sleep at night. This is going to be a long term problem as the council don't have spare housing stock to house everyone in the meantime.

The council say they've found temproary accommodation for 110 families (some from adjoining blocks which had to be evacuated so they won't need permanent rehousing, but there may be others staying with friends and family or where all members of the household are in hospital): http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...lats-kensington-chelsea-council-a7793401.html and the Government is guaranteeeing all survivors will be permanently rehoused within the local area within three weeks.

The council website https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/newsroom/all-council-statements/fire-grenfell-tower states that
All residents of Grenfell Tower who have requested help have been placed in hotels.

Also:
We are now looking to source interim accommodation for those Grenfell Tower residents and also trying to assist, where possible, elderly and vulnerable residents from surrounding areas who have been unable to return to their homes due to the safety cordon.

While we will try do our upmost to ensure those affected remain in or near the borough, given the number of households involved, it is possible the Council will have to explore housing options that may become available in other parts of the capital.

We are still placing households and housing officers are continuing to work to provide assistance and support.

The Westway Sports Centre, Crowthorne Road, W10 6RP, is now the Family and Friends Reception and is being staffed by the police.

Ludricous to suggest empty second homes be used (not offered by owners) to house random displaced people. As if. No one to manage the property, use of all luxury items on the property that are owned by someone else, and let's not forget liability insurance riders and umbrellas for who knows who will be staying there.

If people want to offer their property, good for them.

Thank you for posting this I hope it is actually happening so the poor victims do not have to worry about accommodation on top of the mental trauma they have suffered.

Jeremy Corbyn is making these ludicrous statements because it helps him politically to be for the people and not the rich. It makes a good political soundbite but won't happen. It would have been great for some MPs to offer rental properties they have as temporary accommodation.
