Found Deceased UK - Huw Williams, 25, abruptly moved in w/woman he met, Sherwood, Nottingham, 6 May 2021 *ARREST*

If moving in with a partner he'd recently met hadn't brought up red flags for me, then the age difference combined with it would have... I can't help but think that if this has been a young woman in her mid-twenties with a recent boyfriend a decade older than her, then this case might be getting more media attention. JMO.

The disappearance of a man who has been missing for four months is continuing as detectives thank the public for their continued support for the investigation.

More than 25 leads were generated following a national appeal for information about the whereabouts of Huw Williams.

Dedicated officers followed up piece of information but sadly nothing led to them finding him – and now they are urging anyone else who may be able to help to come forward.

The last sighting of the 25-year-old from Chester was 16 weeks ago, on May 6, when he was seen in Nottingham at the home he shared with a woman.

Since then there have been no sightings of him reported by anyone, and his family and friends have had no contact with him.

He has vanished without his phone and is without any obvious funds to support himself.

Huw’s devastated family has not seen him since Christmas and the last contact they had with him was in early May, around the time of the first bank holiday weekend.

His disappearance is highly unusual leaving his family stricken with worry about what has happened to him and desperately wanting to hear from him that he’s safe and well.

His family made a heartfelt national appeal in July, in the hope this would lead to someone saying they know where he is, or even Huw himself letting people know that he is safe.

The appeal was shared widely across social media platforms, in the national media and by other forces to try and help find him.

Officers are now pursuing other lines of enquiry in the hope of tracing Huw and are re-appealing for anyone who may have seen him to please get in touch as soon as possible.

Detective Superintendent Nick Waldram, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It has now been four months since Huw was last seen.

“As you might imagine his family remain extremely concerned for his welfare and so we are continuing to urge anyone with any information about his whereabouts to come forward.

“On our last media appeal, we had over 25 leads from members of the public but unfortunately none of those led to his location.

“Each lead was followed up and investigated with other local forces but Huw’s whereabouts are still unknown.

“We had a good public response to our appeal last time so are encouraging anyone again with any information to get in touch with anything that may help us locate Huw.

“Enquires are ongoing and I’d like to thank members of the public who have come forward with possible reported sightings but I want to urge anyone who may have seen Huw any time since 6 May to contact us immediately.”

Huw is described as being 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build, with bushy brown hair and a full beard.

He has two tattoos on his arms, one is of a fish on his right forearm and one is of a black and white skull on his left bicep.

He was last seen wearing a chequered shirt, dark blue trousers, and trainers with reflective silver stripes. He may also have a green waterproof jacket with him.

Huw himself, or anyone who has seen him or who may have any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 70 of 6 May 2021.

Wow, Huw has potentially travelled to Derbyshire, Scarborough and making his way to Scotland. Lets hope it is Huw.

Just my thoughts - if she did hurt him, she needed help. He's way too large of a man for a single woman to move, I think.

Another appeal for Huw, this time by North Wales police.

Huw Williams was last seen on May 6 - a woman has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the case Police have appealed for help to find a man with Anglesey links who has been missing for more than four months.

Huw Williams has been known to frequent Bryn Celli Ddu, and other parts of the island.
He disappeared in the Nottinghamshire area and Nottinghamshire Police have asked North Wales Police for help to trace Mr Williams. A 34-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the case. She was released on police bail.

Officers on the NWP Anglesey Facebook page posted: "Our colleagues in Nottinghamshire Police are asking for help in finding Huw Williams. Huw is known to have previously frequented Bryn Celli Ddu, and Anglesey more generally."The last sighting of 25-year-old Mr Williams from Chester was on May 6, when he was seen in Nottingham at the home he shared with a woman.

Since that time there has been no sighting of him reported by anyone, and his family and friends have had absolutely no contact from him either through texts, phone calls or other means. Nottinghamshire Police add that he has vanished without his mobile phone, which was found at his home smashed. He appears to have no other means of contacting him, and is without any obvious funds to support himself.

His "devastated" relatives have not seen him since Christmas and the last contact they had from him was in early May, around the time of the first bank holiday weekend.

The Midlands force say that this is "all highly unusual" leaving his family at their wits end wondering what has happened to him. This prompted them to do a heartfelt national appeal earlier this summer in the hope this would lead to someone saying they know where he is, or even Huw himself letting people know he is safe and well.

The appeal hit all the national media and was shared widely across social media platforms by the public and other forces and the net widened to try and find him.

On the back of this Nottinghamshire Police saw a spike in calls into the force giving alleged sightings of him or giving information about where he might possibly be.

Each one of these leads was followed up, but Mr Williams has still not been found. Concern for his welfare continues to grow, said the police.

In August, detectives searched Mr Williams' last home in the hope a vital clue was turned up.

But the operation in Danethorpe Vale, Sherwood, searching the house and also the garden area, proved fruitless.

Officers they are widening the search.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Waldram, who is leading the investigation into his disappearance, said: "As you might imagine his family remain extremely concerned for his welfare and so we are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

"It is very much out of character for him to be out of contact with his relatives for such a long time and we are keeping them informed as our enquiries continue."

Huw Williams is described as being 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build, with bushy brown hair and a full beard.

He has two tattoos on his arms, one is of a fish on his right forearm and one is of a black and white skull on his left bicep.

He was last seen wearing a chequered shirt, dark blue trousers and trainers with reflective silver stripes. He may also have a green waterproof jacket with him.

Huw himself, or anyone who has seen him or who may have any information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 70 of 6 May 2021.

If there was an assault on Huw then who reported it? I cant see it being Huw. They have searched Huws girlfriend house and found nothing. I really hope Huw managed to get away.

My guess is that it wasn't reported at the time. I think Police interviewed friends and associates of the girlfriend, where her character came to light and probably previous assaults on Huw. Combine that with spattered or pooled evidence found in the residence indicating an assault, and possible statements backing up that witnesses maybe heard it or saw it, that would lead to an arrest in my opinion. ALL MOO

Apologies, I've just re-read the news article, nothing was found in the residence. Has to be statements from witnesses in that case then surely? Could the arrest relate to previous assaults? I've been assuming the worst and thinking it's in relation to this incident of Huw going missing and IMO no longer being here, but that they can't quite stretch what they have to prove murder so for the time being, went with a charge for GBH? MOO

Oh Huw.
Please be alive and in an autistic shutdown.
Please be in the woods forest bathing and being soothed by mother nature.
Please catch a ferry or go into a shop and be recognised by someone kind.
Please pick up a phone and call your family because I promise it hasn't been too long.
Please go on because you deserve to exist.

BBC article
From the article;

His father, Steve Williams, said: "Huw has high-functioning autism, which can make him vulnerable, and our biggest worry is that someone may have exploited this in him.

"I would like to say to Huw, no matter what you are thinking, or how difficult you think the situation is, we just want you to make contact.

"You don't need to come home, we just want to know you are safe and well. Please make contact with someone. We are all devastated not having heard from you. We love you no matter what and always will."

He described his son as being "a warm-hearted, really engaging person who goes out of his way to help people and finds it easy to make friends, even with complete strangers".

After moving to Nottingham, Mr Williams initially kept in contact with his family regularly.

However, his family said he became more distant and did not even want to speak to them on his birthday in mid-April.

If Huw was domestically abused and brainwashed by the gf, isolating him from his family and friends, and attacked him (the GBH charge) so badly beyond what she had done before, maybe it was the last straw for Huw and he left, disappeared without telling anyone. He may feel very independent and doesn't want help or anyone to know where he is.
Could his high functioning autism be powering that independence, in terms of determination, maybe stubbornness, belief in your own self reliance. Could be a very powerful thing.

I feel for Huw's family, they obviously respect his choice if he doesn't want to go home for whatever reason, and they just want to know he's alive and okay. Hope he is

It's not something that comes to mind exactly like that but sort of...

He could have a special interest in camping, survivalism, bushcraft, nature, etc.

He could have a want and need to do that special interest to a level of purity or perfection or obsession that seems extreme to other people.

He could have an intense need for isolation or aloneness while recovering from an overwhelming relationship with this awful sounding woman.

He could be coping with and or avoiding all those feelings by engrossing himself in his special interest.

He could be afraid he can't cope with contacting his family and feel like he can't face all the emotions and consequences.

He could have extremely low self esteem and feel completely unworthy of his family's love and be fairly convinced they are better off without him.

He could be convinced that it is his fault the relationship with the woman went wrong and that this proves he is incapable of good relationships and that he should stop trying to have them for the good of others.

The father of a missing man from Chester has made an emotional plea for his son to get in touch with him as he misses him 'dearly'.

Huw Williams, of Chester, was reported as missing back in May after he seemingly vanished in Nottingham, where he had been staying.

There has been no sightings of the 25-year-old for months and his family describe him as a deeply caring and loving person who makes friends easily.

Huw has autism and his family as well as his friends are in limbo and longing for him to get in touch.

Huw's dad Steve told Nottinghamshire Live : "He really does put others in front of himself, he cares for others and he is a wonderful person for that reason.

[...]

For his family, it's been an extremely difficult year - and will be even more difficult over Christmas.

They are desperately appealing for Huw to get in touch and say they miss him "hugely".

"We've had a very difficult time, obviously" Steve continued.

"We've come back round to where we were in the first place. I genuinely think that he's needed to get away to find some space for himself and sort himself out and get his head in the right place.

0_Huw-Williams-with-friend-Lauren-Dunn.jpg

"But for us that is obviously very difficult. We've come back round to just hoping that he is safe and well.

"He's extremely resilient. I see him being somewhere, having got a job but still trying to sort himself out. But I suppose the difficult part of Christmas is that we're a very close family and despite missing birthdays throughout the year, I know that at Christmas he will be, inside, hurting.

"Just as we are.

"We would dearly love him to just get in touch and let us know he is safe because we all miss him.

"We all miss him hugely."
