A murder charge. Derbyshire Constabulary.
#CHARGED | A woman has been charged with the murder of Izabela Zablocka, who disappeared without trace 15 years ago.

Izabela, a Polish national, came to the UK in 2009 but stopped contacting family in August 2010, when she was 30 years old. She has never been seen since.

A murder inquiry was launched two weeks ago and human remains, believed to be Izabela’s, have since been found in the garden of a property in Princes Street, Normanton.

Five people have been arrested as part of the investigation so far.

Anna Podedworna, 39, of Boyer Street, Derby, has now been charged with murder, preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice. She remains in police custody and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday 6 June.

Two other women aged 39 and 43, and two men aged 41 and 48, were arrested on suspicion of murder and all remain on police bail pending further inquiries.

***Crimestoppers is supporting the investigation by offering up to £20,000 for information the charity exclusively receives - via its website https://crimestoppers-uk.org/ or by calling 0800 555 111 – that leads to the conviction of anyone involved in the killing of Izabela Zablocka. The reward is available for three months and is due to expire on 27 August 2025. ***

"This morning
Anna Podedworna, 39,
appeared before Southern Derbyshire magistrates charged with murder, preventing a lawful and decent burial and perverting the course of justice.

The court heard
the murder said to have taken place between August and October 2010,
and the other charges between August 2010 and June 1 this year.

Podedworna, who was wearing a grey sweater, grey jogging bottoms and glasses and followed proceedings via an interpreter,
spoke only to confirm her details during the brief hearing.

There was no application for bail,
and Podedworna, of Boyer Street, Derby,
was remanded in custody to appear at Derby Crown Court on Monday."

Those arrested would have been in their twenties in 2010. Podedworna specifically would have been 24.

I really admire Izabela's daughter's determination, but I feel absolutely terrible on her behalf! How awful that she's had to grow up and chase this up herself. JMO but Polish authorities have made a mess of this by failing to communicate properly - a body in the back garden the whole time. Goodness me.

The victim never left the UK.
Which was documented.
Her ID was not recorded crossing the border.

So I don't understand how Polish authorities are responsible for something that was happening in the UK 🤔
The local Police in England knew about the disappearance.
They investigated and then the case went cold.

As per the numerous links I've already posted in this thread.

It seems the case was re-opened when new info appeared.
As usually happens in cold cases.

"Investigators in Great Britain are getting closer to solving the mysterious disappearance of Polish woman Izabela Zabłocka in the UK in 2010.

Five people have been arrested in this case.
One is another Polish woman and Izabela's former partner, Anna P.

Detectives point to her as the main culprit in the 30-year-old's death.
She allegedly left Izabela for a man some time before the 30-year-old's death."
