Inquest opens into death of Jack Morrad

The inquest into the death of Basildon man Jack Morrad who went missing before Christmas has opened today (January 8).

During today’s inquest opening at the Essex Coroner’s Court today (January 8), the details around Jack’s case were read out, overseen by Senior Coroner for Essex Caroline Beasley-Murray.

The court also heard that a post-mortem was carried out on January 4 at Basildon Hospital by Dr Fitzpatrick-Swallow. A provisional cause of death was given as drowning pending further investigation.

The hearing also heard that Essex Police had conformed Jack’s death was not suspicious.

A date has been fixed for the resumed inquest on July 23 and the case has now been adjourned.
