Found Deceased UK - Jayne, 56, Lydney, Glos, car found abandoned near Severn Bridge, 6am, 21 Sep 2021

Police are appealing for help in tracing the whereabouts of a woman who has gone missing from Lydney.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who has seen 56-year-old Jayne, after her car was discovered close to the M48 Severn Bridge towards Aust this morning (Tuesday 21 September).

They are concerned for her welfare and would particularly like to speak to anybody who saw a black Ford S-Max Zetec, registration WU10 XNP, in the area shortly before 6am or who may have seen a woman using one of the footpaths nearby.

Jayne is described as being white, 5ft 9in in height and of stocky build. She has blonde hair and walks with a limp.

Anyone with information about Jayne’s location should call 101, quoting incident 52 of 21 September. If seen at the time of calling, please contact 999.

We're sad to report that a body had been found in connection with the search for missing 56-year-old Jayne.

Colleagues from the coastguard recovered a body from the water, close to Beachley.

A body has been found in the search for a missing woman.

The urgent search for Jayne, a missing 56-year-old woman from Lydney, was launched this morning (September 21) after her car was found near to a bridge.

Gloucestershire Constabulary has confirmed this evening that coastguard members recovered a body from the water.

A police statement reads: "Jayne's next of kin and the coroner have been informed and her death is not being treated as suspicious.
