Sat on her sofa at home, the moment a woman's secret past caught up with her

On March 14, 1998, at about 10.45am the naked body of a newborn baby boy was found by a local man out walking his dog with his young son. The baby's body had been discarded inside two knotted bin bags in a wooded area off Camp Road near Gulliver's World theme park in Warrington.

As she is arrested in 2023 - 25 years later - a police officer tells her: "I am not here to judge you and I am not here to cause any unnecessary anguish for you.
"But we are involved in an investigation regarding a baby who was found deceased in woodlands on the outskirts of Warrington in 1998."

I wonder what happened? She was married and had already a 20 month old son at the time. She hid the subsequent pregnancy from her husband. Overall very strange. Postpartum psychosis from the first baby that was never addressed? Pressure from her husband (but it was 1998, there was emergency contraception, even legal abortion ways if both did not want “irish twins” for whatever reason) but he did not know at all about the second pregnancy and I deduct that he probably would have been supportive of another baby.
Also from her reaction not to tell him when she got arrested it seems she decided to conceal the pregnancy.
Must have been some mental illness issue back then.

She's pleaded guilty to manslaughter (diminished responsibility I think) so I wonder if she will ever give a reason? Clearly only she knows! It must have weighed heavily on her mind as she watched her other son grow up!

Poor woman, unaddressed postpartum depression that was aggravated by the unplanned second pregnancy. I wish she had been open about her depression first place - but back then it still was a massive taboo subject and even today it is difficult to get quick help. Also i wish she would have told people about her second pregnancy, husband and family may have been a help and support. Very tragic
