Have you seen John Clayton?

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the 50-year-olds whereabouts.

John was last seen on the morning of Tuesday, June 14 as he left his home in Durham to go to work.

Mr Clayton is described as white with brown and grey hair and was last seen wearing a blue fleece, cargo pants, dark t-shirt and Timberland style boots, he is also known to drive a black Ford Fiesta.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact PC Wilson from Durham City response team on 101.

It looks as if John has lived and worked abroad extensively. The police appeal mentions that John now lives in Durham, but it is less clear about where he works. I think the inference is that he works locally, but who knows.

The car - do the police not know the registration number? Is there a reason they aren't making it (or at least part of it) public? Is the car where it normally is (presumably at the family home), or is it missing too? it is all a bit vague IMO, but perhaps there are reasons for this.

Two days before John was last seen, the cover photo on his Facebook account was changed to a picture of someone boarding a plane. I suspect it was John himself in the picture, although the face isn't visible. Is there anything to be read into this choice of picture?

His partner has said police found the car in Bowburn North Industrial Park, where she said they didn't go, but wasn't far from home.

On 15 Jul 2022 John's partner made an interesting comment on her own Facebook page. It seems that John is still alive and has gone missing of his own volition, though there is no indication of where he currently is. Their relationship appears to have ended.

Poor Maria (his ex-partner) ! Luckily she seems to have a good support network.
