Unfortunately there are men out there who have a disregard for lives. As a man myself it is upsetting, especially as I have a daughter. Rules of the world are unfair in cases like this as the majority of the time, these men can overpower their victims so they don’t stand a chance. MOO

I guess we all clung to a vague hope she might have been found alive. Devastating news but glad the family can now properly grieve rather than living with the dreadful uncertainty

I'm more than certain that poor Katie did not go to the forest with this individual willingly.

I don't see that at all. He looks like he's celebrating having installed or repaired whatever it is behind him.
With the advent of phone camera and selfies, people increasingly take snaps of themselves pulling funny faces. Katie and her family do it a lot.

As I understood Katie's body was found nearby.

I noticed that on ‘Lancs Live’ they stated that the police were again back to searching Gisburn forest after the prioritised search in the forest of Bowland proved negative.

However it seems they still had reason to search the forest of Bowland (thankfully of course) maybe aswell as Gisburn forest.

I wonder if that van sighting from the member of the public really was the breakthrough ( at least to find her body sooner rather than later.)

(Sorry, I assumed Gisburn forest and the forest of Bowland were two different areas … have learnt that Gisburn forest is technically in the forest of Bowland.)
