Tearful mum 'not surviving, just existing' since daughter vanished 3 months ago

Found it. Will copy pasta.

"THREE months ago, Leah Croucher posted her daily Snapchat update - the latest in a three-year thread - and vanished into thin air.

The 19-year-old was walking to work through Milton Keynes on February 15 when she disappeared - with her parents now fearing they may have done "something wrong". "

So as I was saying, she sent a daily message for three years. Wonder what was in her final update? This is certainly strange and it's good that MSM is on it now.

I thought she did NOT post her daily update?

Sadly enough, suicide always has to be considered as a possibility, with disappearances. But I don’t think that a 19 near old wanting to move out of her parents house and in with a friend is a sign, necessarily, of anything wrong in her life.

Yes, except where is she, if she did?

I’m sorry—I wasn’t meaning to imply that she did leave voluntarily and move in with someone. If I had to guess, I’d guess that she was abducted by a stranger, or a casual acquaintance.

Well perhaps only some of it posted? It still isn't clear to me exactly how her phone suddenly stopped, at 8.25 was it and they knew that unless they immediately called her back and couldn't get thru or something or as someone else said she hung up and turned it off or even chucked it in the lake if she was upset? Weird. JMO.

In the very early days following the disappearance, on one of the missing pleas an aunt posted that her phone had been "switched off" at 8.25am. This is not validated anywhere. The info re instagram posts daily is very new, only mentioned in the latest family plea (as far as I recall). Confusion about calls etc comes from the call from Leah's work to her dad. Initially it was said in missing pleas that she was not annual leave, as the family had checked with her work. In a presser, her parents said they had a call from her work and her dad went to the family home at 5.30pm to see if she was there, which ofc she was not. This info all comes from various missing pleas and pressers, not LE as far as I know,

It's a pity we're not allowed to sleuth family. I would like to ask Lisa how she knew Leah's mobile was switched off at such a precise time.

And why she used the word "suddenly". Personally, I would only use that phrase if I was in the middle of a conversation when the phone was turned off. Hard to see how else a phone can be turned off suddenly.

A phone will stay connected to a mobile mast for a certain amount of time (3 hours I believe) after powering down for whatever reason, so the mobile provider will know what time the phone went off. LE will have asked for that kind of info from the network.

Thanks. I had followed early and then recently read some MSM and must have seen this Sun report, but I don't think it had been posted on here when I first read it and mentioned it (yesterday) as I was questioned about where I had heard it from. It took me a day to find it as I looked right thru both threads as some suggested, but it wasn't there. Today I searched internet for recent stuff and there it was. Also, it was Snapchat according to MSM not Instagram. Snapchat disappears after a set time I understand, (unless a viewer saves it I believe, correct me if wrong), whereas Instagram doesn't. Did you see a link that said it was an Instagram, cos now I am confused again. I am wondering if the confusion in MSM or lack of info from LE is deliberate in any way to try and catch out any possible perp. MOO.

Eta bracketed sentence.

It's prob me confusing snapchat and insta. Whichever it was she posted something on it every morning, so unless there are stacks of insta posts I think it must be snapchat? I do think some info has been muddled about times and sightings etc but I'm not suggesting any of it is deliberate. It's all just bizarre IMO

I wondered why someone would post something every day for 3 and a half years like that. That would be about 1300 posts. So she would have been 16 or so when she began that. Was this something her family asked her to do as a security thing so they knew she was on her way to work or was it voluntary? I've never heard something like this before, has anyone else?

That's an interesting point. Something I also find interesting, as a local, is her mum said she told her to change her route in case of kidnap. Maybe it was a security check.

If it was Snapchat, they have a running streak. Everyday is counted. If you miss a day, the streak ends and you start over at Day 1. Very silly but people are very proud of their Snapchat streaks, unfortunately me included!!:oops::oops::oops:

Oh so its a thing? How many days has yours been going?

ETA. I just googled and it seems 1407 days is the current record.

My longest one right now is 513 days! With my BFF! People are serious. They will send you snaps just to say your Streak is in danger. I am much to old for this but you get hooked! A little hour glass shows up when you are in danger of losing a streak!!

I'm of the age when a streak meant something else, usually at rugby matches. 513 is a lot though.

Also Snaps disappear from the receivers view right away. You have one more chance to view and then it is gone. You can screenshot but the person who sent the snap will be informed. The Snapchat folks may be able to retrieve a snap but I do not know this.

They mention she would contact them every day without fail. I hope I haven't misunderstood that. Anyone else remember that?

Ah, I only saw that she posted a snapchat each day - wasn't sure that was connected to JC and CC

eta - I see this has been covered now - am a bit late catching up on here

No I mean, if suicide...where is her body? Seems she would have been found.
