Can you imagine if she’s been there all this time? In terms of any potential evidence that would be on a body that long in water - how retrievable would be?

Good question. You'd think a lake would preserve evidence more so than a river or the sea, but who knows. Depends if injuries are obvious I suppose, and whether it can be determined that CoD was drowning or not.

Fingers crossed it’s not Leah, it’s just far too awful to contemplate her being there this whole time.

Underwater search team are there - surely not needed just for an item of clothing ?
Seems ominous. Have water levels changed recently exposing something, I wonder.

Google Maps

This is a link to a google satellite map of the area being searched. The small pavilion is in the video recently linked. To the NE there is a car park that looks like you can access the Watling Street (a5) there. The map is zoomable.

*UPDATE* Following a report earlier today, we can confirm that an item of clothing has been recovered from Furzton Lake. The item is not connected to missing Leah Croucher or to any other current investigation and the police activity in the area of the lake has now concluded.

Ah, ok. So that has made me look closer at Furzton Lake anyway and see how easy it would be to abduct someone at that location and into a car . MOO.

I'm talking about Leah - it's not illegal to go out with a married man or to have an overprotective older brother. To suggest something was "illicit" verges on victim bashing IMO so comments need to bear that in mind, as WS doesn't allow that at all.

I’m sorry you’ve misunderstood what was written. There is absolutely no victim bashing. The word illicit was written in “ ” to emphasis the sarcastic tone to show I fully disagree with this!

Let's not pass moral judgements, this isn't the place. Regardless of our own thoughts Leah is missing and her family are distraught. Let's try to discover whats happened to poor Leah :

The possible relationship with the married man and going missing after valentine's day - This springs red flags to me. From what I can gather AC has never been arrested and one report even states him as a witness -

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said today: “Mr Choudhry is a witness who has provided a detailed statement regarding his friendship and relationship with Leah.

“The investigation team have spoken to Mr Choudhry on a number of occasions since Leah disappeared and he has always made himself available.

( Missing Leah Croucher's brother warned over threats to her married boyfriend after blaming him for her disappearance)

Witness?! does this mean he saw or spoke to Leah on the day she went missing. The police could be playing the long game and hoping for more evidence before arresting or of course he may not be a suspect. In my mind HC did the police a favour as it allowed them to speak to AC about his relationship with Leah further .

In regards to the grooming comment. Whilst I do understand that both parties are adults it’s still a married man who is close to 30 with a much younger girl. There would have had to have been some form of him “romancing” her to get her attention. At 19 I can remember thinking how old 27 year olds were. I certainly wouldn’t have paid much attention to someone at work much older than me unless they really went out of their way to make me feel special in a very similar way to grooming.

I agree. From what Leahs parents have said she doesn't seem a street wise girl, she sounds quiet and reserved. She sounds like someone who could be easily manipulated by an older person. I could be wrong however, I kept a wild youth secret from my parents for many years!

Let's not pass moral judgements, this isn't the place.*
No-one has passed any moral judgements here. Simply pointed out the reality that the public do.

Witness?!*
When the Police (in the UK at least) describe someone as a witness, it doesn't necessarily mean that they witnessed a crime. They could just be someone close to the victim who can shed some light on recent events.

*Snipped for clarity.

EDIT: Mucked up the formatting.

I was just trying to nip it in the bud before it had chance to turn in to a discussion about morals . No accusing from me:)

oh ok I didnt know that about Witness status. I've not heard it used before other than someone who witnessed a crime. Wording can be so misleading at times.

I wish we could just find Leah, whatever state she is in. If anyone knows anything, any little thing, anything seemingly insignificant, please please call 101.

The police have shown they are working very hard and taking the information they receive very seriously. I know people in some countries can be worried about ‘the police’ in general, but I have -nearly - always found them to be polite, courteous and knowledgeable. (Send the info through again by Crimestoppers in the unlikely event you feel it hasn’t been taken seriously enough).

Quite right, I was getting side-tracked.

Back to the case in hand, the introduction of AC does offer a potential explanation of why one Police search included a seemingly unconnected area of MK, as mentioned by Miss-Scarlett23 here. Unfortunately, this doesn't add anything, but it does at least allow for potentially tying up that particular loose end.

Here's what I don't understand at the moment: It takes about ten minutes to get from Buzzacott to the Sports Ground. If the witnesses are accurate, what did Leah spend more than an hour doing?

I actually looked it up after I replied. It's a bit more involved than "can shed light on events", it's "a person, other than a defendant, who is likely to give evidence in court. All victims are also witnesses and should be treated as such."

No one knows exactly where Leah went after Buzzacott as there is no more cctv or witness sightings.
She could have walked on towards the office - another 20 minutes or so - then decided, for whatever reason, not to go inside. This timing would coincide with the phone switch off at 8.34 am.
If she then turned round and walked back towards the lake, this could take another 15 / 20 minutes or so - depending on the route she chose.
So she would get to the lake just before 9 am and first witness sighting is around 9.30 am.
If she was troubled by something, I could quite easily see her spending 30/40 minutes just sitting by the lake, or walking around, to clear her head.
