What a ‘gentleman’ getting a teenager to pay £13 taxi fares. Hope he paid towards it. It makes you wonder if he was ‘using’ her to annoy her brother or something. Did she pay for the hotel room as well? What a charmer. Or maybe he gave her the cash? But then why not pay cash for the room and taxi. Wonder what his alibi is for the disappearance?

Well, finally!! Why this has been kept quiet for the last 8 months I don’t know... someone might have recalled something about it if it had been mentioned at the time.

I know so frustrating. Should really have been made public as soon as she went missing instead of this talk about how there were no problems.

The whole thing has been seriously compromised by keeping this fling quiet.

Family obviously have their own suspicions. This is them ramping up the pressure on the police.

"Police have spoken to the man and say they have no suspicions about him because it is thought he has an alibi for the time that Leah vanished."

I wonder if said person was given an alibi by a family member, whoever the said person may be.

MK CITIZEN 29.10.19

On Saturday February 3, twelve days before Leah disappeared, she announced she was going to book a hotel room and have a girlie night with two female friends, drinking alcohol and gossiping.

Leah's dad dropped her at the Jury's Inn at Central Milton Keynes and waved goodbye as she walked off.

It was only much later, when her bank statement arrived some time after Leah's disappearance, that the Crouchers realised their daughter had lied to them.

"Her statement showed she had booked a room at the cheaper hotel nearby - the Travelodge," said Claire. "We checked with her friends, of course, and they said they hadn't been with her that night.

"We believe she was with X, but did not want to tell us."

So have the police checked what Mr X was up to on 3 February? Wonder what his alibi was for that night?

Mr X may not have spent the whole night of 3 Feb with her, may have just kept her waiting. Wonder if she gave a different mobile number to the hotel?

Also, where was she seeing him? At his house? Or just at hotels? How far do you get on £13 taxi fare (assuming she didn’t have a discount)

Same for the 14th February during the time that Leah went out to meet someone. And if it was Mr X who Leah was with on both those occasions, why hasn't he simply admitted it? Why would anyone lie about it?

Good point about the phone number - i wonder if the Travelodge still have details of the booking from February? If so it would be interesting to see if Leah used her regular phone or is it possible that she did have a second phone/sim that no-one knew about?

It's a shame the Travelodge details weren't featured in the Crimewatch or This Morning appeals. Someone who stayed there the same date might have recognised her, may haveseen her with Mr X but not thought any more about it because it was 2 weeks before she went missing.

I cannot believe this has only just been made public now!!! 8 months too late IMO.

If the hotel booking showed up on the bank statement then the bank will probably still have more details of the financial transaction as it may have gone to their ‘verification’ department or been automatically screened. They may have checked whether contact details were the same for Leah as on the account.

I wonder why it has been revealed now .Have the police been doing more investigations or did a witness come forward after the recent publicity .Were the Croucher's forced to reveal this?

I doubt the police ever stopped investigating, although there have been other serious incidents that must have impacted on the team. Perhaps other investigations have given info that may be relevant.

If someone wanted to pass on some info but were worried about implicating themselves in an unrelated crime, how could they go about that?

In a recent stabbing crime in MK people were told they could contact crimestoppers anonymously if they had any information.

Is it just me who finds it immensely sad that missing Leah makes MSM immediately she was having a ‘secret’ affair. She is a nineteen year old who vanished without trace, it shouldn’t have been so difficult to get that out nationwide.

I wonder if said mystery man's fiancée had been aware of what was going on before, or had been told by a friend, and had confronted Leah.

Why phone? Every time I book a hotel I do it online.

I feel sad but also fairly angry right now. We’ve known about this pretty much from the start, but no, everything was apparently “normal”.
