£13 gets you quite a long way in a Taxi in Milton Keynes doesn’t it?

The Sun printed the comments back in May, there may have been other papers who did but this is the first one that came up:
Missing Leah Croucher's brother warned over threats to her married boyfriend after blaming him for her disappearance
So is the guy named in this article the same as Mr. X in the latest article as talked about by Leah's parents or someone different?

Is it possible Mr. X or AC saw Leah on the 13th or 14th Feb? Have police given an update or comment on Leah's parents story?

Yes, believed to be the same guy.
We don't know who she met on 14th for an hour, but she fibbed to her parents about it.
And I haven't seen a police update since today's story broke.

Surly there must be cctv of this night
The article stated that by the time the parents realised what had happened the CCTV was no longer available from the hotel.

From the DM link upthread -

"We believe she was with X, but did not want to tell us.'

CCTV of the Travelodge had been wiped out by the time the lie was discovered, so there is no record of the assignation.

Claire and John are asking anybody who was in that area on February 3 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm to rack their brains to see if they remember spotting Leah.

So is the taxi company Eezycabs? According to their website they are the only company in MK that takes in car card payments. I guess the family will know anyway from her bank statements.

Are there any other cab companies that you can pay by card when you book or anything?

The story from her parents has changed so perhaps this information could also change and she was actually out for longer than an hour.

Is Eezy cabs run by relatives of X? Were his own family charging her to meet him?

I have caught up on the thread. I always stop by but have not posted. I understand the parents wanted to protect Leah but the hotel meeting is big. 8 months later people might not remember! Hopefully the person working at the check in/out desk that night remembered something and told LE. Does anyone local know the hotel? Is it a hotel where you would always have to walk past the check in desk? Or is it one where all the room doors open to the outside? If the latter, Leah could have checked in and then Mr. X could have just gone to the room without the check in person seeing or knowing. MOO

It should be the check-in desk type. I don't even know that we have the other type in the UK.

I would think police would have already asked the staff on duty at the hotel that night. Maybe Leah and Mr X went out for a meal or a drink before going back to the hotel and either paid cash or Mr X paid for that part so that it's not on Leah's bank statement. So if anyone saw Leah out one evening in that general area of town with a man, even if they don't know the exact date it should be called in, or conversely if someone thinks they can guess the identity of Mr X and they saw him one night in February with a girl matching Leah's description, it's worth them calling it in. Maybe if a tip like that comes in, then police can check card payments for that establishment for February and see if something matches that night?

Very interesting!!
But the surname is spelt differently. Could they still be part of the same family but spell their surname differently do you think? Does anyone know if the address is the same? I remember there were two posters on here several months ago that had managed to find out his address.

Mr X hasn't been named as a POI so we are not allowed to sleuth his home address etc.

I personally don't think that Mr X would have gone for a meal/drink with Leah, simply because it seems as if he wanted to keep this relationship hush-hush and he would run the risk of being caught out if spotted in a public place with her - getting Leah to book the Travelodge was extremely sneaky on his part and another way to cover his tracks. It would be interesting to know if Leah booked a single or double room that night, and, if double, was it for 1 or 2 people?

We know Leah lied to her parents about where she was going on the evening of 14 February for an hour or so but it seems likely now that if she went to meet Mr X she would have ordered a taxi so i wonder if the police have checked with any of the local taxi companies to see if they picked up a fare that evening from on or around Leah's address?

Going out for an hour on 14th Feb is puzzling. It wasn't a 'date' if she was meeting Mr X. They couldn't be seen in public. The meeting must have been in a covert place. She went and returned on foot and was dressed casually, no? But they could have met for shenanigans.

So she possibly had 2 phones to hide her relationship from her family. The girl seen in distress at the lake could have been Leah. St that point she would have been late for work already. So this could have been mystery man breaking ot off with her. She didn't react well. Enter a.n. Other who decided to silence her for good?

So if she was late for work..had she planned to meet him but he called her instead? She left at normal time and was expected at normal time presumably?

I find it hard to believe that this new information isn't linked to her disappearance.

I agree, the family must believe he has something to do with it, but I feel they are treading carefully. I hope it all begins to unravel now. I wonder if TVP are equipped to handle this kind of case
