Thank you for clarifying timing and for the image above. It does seem that if the evidence points to her phone being turned off at the northern part of lake near the premier Inn and there is no further CCTV or sightings of her past that point then that would likely be the point of disappearance.

I've been reading back through some of the MSM articles from when she initially went missing and I found this statement quite interesting and hadn't picked up on it before...

Leah Croucher: 'Potential sightings' after one-year anniversary appeal

Det Ch Insp Andy Howard previously said he thought there were friends or associates of Ms Croucher who "potentially hold more information about Leah's life than they are willing to share with the police so far".

I think we all know who one of these associates is, and no doubt they still haven't shared any information about Leah's life to the police from that day 'til this.

It's about time they did. For Leah and her family's sake.

Yes I agree. I also believe the truth will come out one day.

Would the family be allowed to erect a billboard with a pic of Leah at the lake?

This is a terribly sad case.
To lose a daughter and not know what has happened to her is heartbreaking enough, but to lose a son too, trying to find justice for his missing sister, in the way he saw relevant at that time is so tragic.
I wonder if others were aware of the affair with MrX? Was it spoken about between 'friends'?
Did another person or others think they would 'try their luck' with LC, already knowing intimate details of her workplace, the affair and her route to work? 2nd or 3rd hand info, for instance?

Did she go willingly with someone she knew, like entrapment?

This could have also been a random attack/abduction too, so I'm trying to keep an open mind about who the perp could be.

I realise this has been discussed for a while now, but thought I'd add my interest.

I've also wondered that if someone is too scared to talk for fear of being ostracised.

Police spent days door knocking houses on the route she could have taken. Many had security CCTV or doorbells that film people close to their houses - but none had detailed images of people walking past.

"You can see little black blobs - they could be anyone," says DCI Howard.

Above is from the MK Citizen article: Police reveal hope that Leah Croucher might still be alive on the second anniversary of her disappearance from Milton Keynes

I am clutching at straws here, but I wonder if the blobs can be analysed to show a potential direction of foot travel for Leah, ie not from being able to say visually this blob looks like Leah, but some kind of blobmotion (not a real word).

Maybe get google to do some free analysis, or the ring doorbell people. Or just some volunteers from some kind of motion study traffic management or university where they look at the flow of particles.

Edited to Add: or a computer games manufacturer. The ones who make the incredibly detailed (and very violent) popular game - I will ask my husband tomorrow - would have sufficient skill for this.

@Jenesaisquoi I have found the article you have referenced and I think that’s an incredible suggestion personally. The theme in this article seems to be that there are only straws to clutch at, and anything could help here!! With motion of those “blobs” you could compare them with the route Leah takes to work and narrow it down that way as you say, I think this is genius.
Some things to note: New potential sighting of Leah at 8:20 am on the day of her disappearance. This makes sense as they had previously narrowed it to an 18 minute square mile- which is now 14 minute square mile. Leah was last seen on Buzzacott lane at 8:16 a.m so the maths certainly works. The sighting was opposite the Tesco express, waking past Telly tubbie Hill. Please see attached the first image which has pinpointed this new possible sighting.
The next image shows where the Tesco express is labelled in green, and where the last confirmed sighting was on Buzzacott lane in red. This footpath/ redway labelled in blue could be a direction she took, or she could’ve gone down loxebeare drive. The third picture is street view of this redway.
I also notice a bunch of contractions here from both the writer and DCI Andy Howard. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this article? It’s quite conflicting.

Two years ago today Leah Croucher vanished off the face of the earth in Milton Keynes. This is why it's the most emotive story I've ever written
T0FLMTI4ODk4OTIw.jpg

Leah Croucher
''In Milton Keynes, the name Leah Croucher is pretty much universally known. She's 'our' Leah; we care deeply about finding her, feel incredible sympathy for her family, and hold endless hypothetical discussions about what could have happened to her. Most of all we long for this girl, a girl that most of us did not even know, to be found safe and well.

What has always puzzled me, however, is that so many people outside of MK don't seem to know about our Leah in this cyber connected world. Why hasn't our missing person mystery received the same massive publicity as Suzy Lamplugh, for example? Is there someone out there, miles and miles away, that could hold vital information but is totally unaware of how important it is? All we can do is spread the word, share, share and share again the social media appeals and photos of Leah's smiling rosy-cheeked face''.

I have to say that article has annoyed me a bit. It's quite a bold statement for police to give a personal opinion that Leah has disappeared off her own accord when they have admitted they haven't even interviewed the only suspect 'Mr X'. Why not look into him even slightly before you make such a suggestion? If I was the family I would be looking into PI. There's a very small window of time and distance where Leah vanishes and I think if those looking for her were open to other theories a lot more could be found out. This might be the only case I have heard of where someone had a "romantic" relationship with the victim and they are not even considered or looked it! Also the words they use "unrequited love" if that was the case then who did she meet in the hotel 12 days before? Who did she meet the night before on valentine's day of all days?

Quote by police from the article...

"But police will not discuss Mr X, who has denied his relationship with Leah was any more than friendship - or any other named individual. They have disclosed previously, however, that nobody has ever been arrested or interviewed as a suspect since the case began."

Thinking of Leah, Haydon , their families and friends today. How terrible for them in two years there are still no answers.

Just going through some of the comments made by DCI Howard in the MK Citizen article today (BBM):

Starting with: Officially, he says: "After all of this time with no contact, no positive sightings, no financial transactions, no social media and no phone activity, the potential that Leah is no longer alive has to increase."

This would almost certainly indicate that Leah is no longer alive. However, he then goes on to say "My own theory? I think the most likely theory is that Leah has gone of her own accord on her own... I believe it is because of a decision she made herself." Why would he think that when there is absolutely no indication that Leah is still alive, certainly no digital footprint at least?

Then we have: Certainly police are adamant there is nothing to suggest a third party was involved in Leah's disappearance, despite the view of her parents and those who knew her best that the teenager would never choose to up and leave of her own accord. There's been talk of a mystery man she may have been involved with, an older married man, engaged to be married, who can only legally be referred to as Mr X. But police will not discuss Mr X, who has denied his relationship with Leah was any more than friendship - or any other named individual. They have disclosed previously, however, that nobody has ever been arrested or interviewed as a suspect since the case began.

However he then goes on to say "There is evidence there was a relationship where her feelings were not requited - perhaps an unrequited love." So if there is some evidence of a possible relationship with someone, why not investigate it further just to see if you could find out what really was going on? How thorough did they check to see if this relationship was true - did they just accept the word of 'X' that nothing was going on and leave it at that?

And then "There is no information at the moment that Leah has been a victim of crime or that anyone else was involved in her disappearance." So where is the evidence that Leah did disappear voluntarily then? You can equate both these scenarios equally as there is no evidence to support either.

Then this: There is also the possibility that Leah had a second phone and was plotting to vanish - although this is a scenario the family of the quiet, home-loving teenager finds difficult to believe. But location settings were turned off at the eastern part of the lake the previous evening, when she mysteriously slipped out for a short time on Valentine's Day. They were never turned back on. Why? Again, how thorough did they investigate where Leah went to the evening before she disappeared. Did they check with any taxi driver's to see if perhaps Leah got a taxi either there or back to wherever she was going? Or maybe she jumped on a bus home - did they check any CCTV on buses that evening? What about the following day? Were all buses and taxi's checked in the area for any sign Leah had been in them. Did they check Friday afternoon and the following weekend as well just to see if there was any sign of her? Did they check all CCTV to see if 'X's car was in the area on the Thursday evening, on the Friday and all weekend?

I find a lot of the comments by DCI Howard incredibly frustrating and I expect Leah's family would think the same way too.

It seems the detective is willing to consider all theories except the one which is most likely .... the involvement of Mr X.

The big question is ,why is Mr X being given this protection?

That's exactly what I was thinking. The DCI says he's open-minded about everything, yet won't consider the possible involvement of Mr X.

The family needs to ask for another police force to do a thorough review take over the case.

@WiseOwl your post is great and sums up my thoughts exactly! There is no clear evidence either way that Leah was abducted OR disappeared herself so why then say ~

"My own theory? I think the most likely theory is that Leah has gone of her own accord on her own... I believe it is because of a decision she made herself."

It does seem that they have asked Mr X if there was a relationship and he has denied it and so they've just accepted that at face value and said "ok". Would you not just double check and look into it just to be 100% sure he was telling the truth? Something about this just does not sit right. Like @Skigh says it does look like Mr X is being protected.

Another thing I found interesting was this quote ~

"There is also the possibility that Leah had a second phone and was plotting to vanish - although this is a scenario the family of the quiet, home-loving teenager finds difficult to believe. But location settings were turned off at the eastern part of the lake the previous evening, when she mysteriously slipped out for a short time on Valentine's Day. They were never turned back on. Why?"

So we now know the night before she was again within the vicinity of the lake. So if this was a suicide why not do it the night before? Why come home and order a takeaway?

I looked on google maps and going by the new info out today that there was a sighting of Leah at Teletubbie hill at 8.20am if you put in the premier Inn address (where her phone was switched off at 8.34am) from teletubbie hill it's exactly a 14 minute walk!! 8.20 + 14mins = 8.34am!! I have a gut feeling whatever happened to Leah has something to do with that premier Inn, maybe she was meeting someone there? Also, if that's where her phone location services were turned off the night before then is that not the biggest coincidence???

I have attached a copy of the map and marked Teletebbie hill in red (TTH) and the Premier Inn in purple (PI). Teletubbie hill does not come up on goggle maps as a location so I have entered the nearest road which is loxbeare drive.

I looked up photos of the premier Inn on google maps and it quite clearly has several CCTV cameras one of which looks at though it is pointing directly at the footpath past the lake (if I am incorrect on this please feel free to correct me). I have attached photos from google maps to show what I mean. I also note around the back of the hotel there is a large number of large wheelie bins (just another possibility rolling around in my head).

The police have mentioned going door to door to peoples houses asking for CCTV or sightings of Leah. Yet looking at her route and the time her phone switched she was quite clearly in close proximity to the premier Inn, which is covered in CCTV cameras. Yet nothing has been mentioned about this (they may well have checked it and are just choosing to not to disclose that info) but going by DCI Howards comments he does not feel she was abducted so it seems to be Avenue they are not even willing to look at.

ALL MOO

I agree 100% with this!!

I too felt really uncomfortable after reading DCI Howard’s comments, and somewhat disappointed. It goes without saying but I cannot possibly imagine what the family have gone through during these past 2 years. As I mentioned above, his comments are a bunch of contradictions. If DCI Howard actually believes in his own theory, and if it’s the case that they have looked into every possible scenario apart from the one involving Mr. X, then could this explain why this investigation has since made no breakthroughs? Thank you for these great observations @HollyHunter9 @WiseOwl.
The fact that there have been no witnesses and no persons of interest but we know for certain there was a romantic relationship involved, one that DCI describes as “unrequited love”, then this in itself is a huge contradiction.
I agree with what @WiseOwl has pointed out here too that TVP have no evidence to support either scenario, although they hold strong theories that all exclude the possibility of Mr.X and seem to be pinning this theory of Mr.X all on the Croucher family which I do not agree with at all. It’s just as logical as any other theory, if not more so as this affair was described as the only “anomaly” in Leah’s life at the time by those closest to her. At it was the day after Valentine’s Day.

I also notice that it states in this article that the phone location services were switched off on the EASTERN side of Furzton lake on 14th February 2019, day before disappearance, when Leah went off for an hour 15 minutes. This information although small actually changes a lot as we also know it went off at the north end on day of disappearance. The possibility of a trusted meet up scenario is unfortunately seeming more likely. IMO. EDIT:Thank you @HollyHunter9 for pointing this out! This definitely seems significant.

I also wonder how thorough they investigated the days leading up. They have now since today appealed towards taxi drivers or any sort of logistic drivers, which to the best of my knowledge has not been done before. I also think this is significant. Source: Fourteen minutes and a single square mile of Milton Keynes - that's the crux of the baffling Leah Croucher case

“If you are a taxi driver or delivery worker, please check your schedule for that day. Were you in the area? Did you see anyone resembling Leah or anything unusual happening? A scuffle or skirmish? A girl with long brown hair getting into a car? A girl looking upset?”

Definitely think if the family have not already, should consider the idea of a PI @HollyHunter9 likewise with the idea of giving this to another police force to review @Skigh

Wow! @HollyHunter9 Thank you so much for this really thorough comment and your attention to detail. Those calculations of 8:20 am plus 14 minutes = 8:34 are a great spot! I too agree, If not the premier Inn I consider a meeting spot nonetheless. IMO

also really great work on spotting the CCTV cameras around the building. It was interesting to look into this for the first time, it does seem heavily populated with cameras- I wonder if they did pick up anything? If not on day of disappearance but days leading up to it to gauge which direction she takes around the lake/possible meeting spots. But of course the police do not even consider this as a scenario it seems.

Absolutely. Or perhaps approach an experienced ex-detective to look into Leah's disappearance for them - Colin Sutton would be my choice.
