I dont have a map of cctv but honestly in that area I dont think there will be much. MK has purpose built areas. So you'll have Emerson Valley which is like a cross between a big housing estate and a district. There are loads of these in MK. As they're purpose built they have centralised shopping areas, plus maybe a school, docs surgery etc. Reason for the ramble is that you don't have say corner shops or random cafes etc. Residential areas are just various forms of housing. Emerson Valley is a huge area and there might be a few asbo type issues but nothing too problematic. So I dont think many houses will have cctv.

Milton Keynes was designed on a grid system. All the main roads are either marked with a V (vertical) or a H (horizontal). All the residential areas or "estates" are contained within the grid, with a redway system interwoven between the estates and main roads, for pedestrians and cyclists to move around the town without the dangers of encountering traffic. Although the grid roads are heavily covered with cctv and traffic cameras, the redway system and housing estates are relatively camera free. There are problem areas within the estates, where savvy residents have had cctv installed on their property, but the areas on Leah's route are low crime areas and less likely to have cctv installed, hence the lack of sightings.

At 8:15am there wouldn’t be much school traffic as most wont leave their houses until at least 8:30am. So it would be residential cameras and the odd few commuters. But the last sighting is not on a route out of the estate so unlikely to be seen by those heading out. I think dash cameras are still quite rare and unless residents have any issues they are unlikely to have CCTV. There will only be main CCTV in the city centre type places. MK is such an unusual place that your normals for most towns/cities won’t apply here. Chances are between the last sighting and her estate of work there will have been very very few cameras. No public ones and only if a private residence has set one up.

What do you think Scarlett does this sound about right to you too? I dont know Furzton

Absolutely, most of her route was on the redway system, so she was well away from traffic. Unless she decided to walk along the main road (Chaffron Way), which is highly unlikely due to the dangers of heavy 2-way traffic travelling at 60mph, the chances of her being caught on a dash-cam are slim to none.

All of this said it would be a big risk to abduct someone from the local roads due to the density of residential properties. Abduction from the lake path not likely due to having to force some one along where people are going to be. For abduction, I think lake car park most probable but that assumes she'd go that way. Voluntarily - in a car, she could be miles away v quickly and not seen. Not poss via bus or train due to public areas for witnesses and cctv. Being held is possible if she went to a local house (strange no witnesses tho). Unfortunately in terms of likelihood I think remote areas of the redway provide opportunity for an unplanned attack and shrubs would provide cover. Or she has somehow come to harm in the lake of course. The limited info made public points to her taking some time out somehow. Really hope so

I am seriously baffled. Everything seems like an abduction would be least likely scenario, i.e time of day, locale, etc.
Just have no idea what to think or where they go from here. Wondering when her phone last signaled, pinged or was used though.

I don't think an abduction is necessarily the least likely scenario, that could happen anytime anywhere, and as mentioned earlier in the thread the fact this happened on Valentines Day could be significant, but we don't know if she was seeing anyone.

It could be abduction, but she went voluntarily initially. If someone she knew gave her a lift, for instance

I'm trying to catch up, so sorry if this has been discussed loads.

I've had a good wander round on streetview and google earth and it seems right through the park (west to east) would be a much nicer walk than via Loxbeare/Chaffron, unless she usually got a lift from a colleague somewhere along the way. Is that a possibility?

EDIT sorry HKP, just saw your post suggesting same.

I wonder if she walked every day. There’s a very good bus network in MK if she doesn’t drive and it seems like quite a long walk to me.

Glad to see how dedicated LE seem to be to finding Leah. 4000 houses and businesses! Good on them.

If she gets to the end of her last sighing and goes the shop way there really should be numerous sightings

If she takes a right and heads slightly back on herself not as many people until she gets to the main lake bridge

Google Maps

I'm trying to link the route that google maps suggested she would take which i screenshotted earlier, so people can zoom.

I think @Sera had worked out the exact location of where that CCTV was taken?

Sera?

Out of curiosity, thought I'd have a search on the internet for similar cases and found this:

Man tried to abduct teenage girl in Hereford

Note the age of the victim and the time of day it happened!

Wow. Ok. Interesting. So he basically stops the car, calls the girl over (pretending to ask directions, perhaps?) and then tries to pull her into the vehicle?

I wonder if they caught this guy or have more information about him???

The path has house each side and when you get to the end you finally get to the main road dulverton drive

This is the important bit

She goes left my chosen towards shops should be seen onto shenley lodge then knowhill

If she goes right she walks down to a more scenic stream route up to the end then left to the fields and onto the lake

Only thing is she has passed the stream route in getting to buzz from Emerson

Hope this helps but probably won’t
