Ah, thanks. Apologies for the mistake.

No worries, took me a while to figure it out then I heard about the redways that are for pedestrian use. By walking behind that house on the redway she'd have reached the underpass which comes up behind her office.

The podcast is a few pages earlier in this thread (pg 46). I tried to quote it but it didn’t work.

Six weeks missing now. Can’t find anything new on a google search. Still hoping someone comes forward with more info.

I really hope Leah is still alive, but the longer she is missing the less likely this seems.
So hard to understand how she could disappear like this .

Where has the media coverage gone? Surely this is big story similar to Libby and Corrie. Do the police now think she's voluntarily absent? It's all very subdued...

I wonder how much local media coverage is happening?

I remember posters out of the area saying how little coverage there had been nationally for Corrie - same with Libby perhaps - apart from the occassional item in DM sadly this sort of news doesn't spread far beyond the local area.

There have been articles most days in the national papers about Libby since she went missing and sadly found.

It would be good if we all could keep posting to keep this on page 1.

Who decides on wording a campaign for a missing person, is it LE or the family? It's just my opinion but shouldn't Come Home Leah be changed to Find Leah at this stage?

JMO after following cases on here, but it seems like national press only really pick up these stories when it looks like something malicious might have happened and there's "something" to report on. Like Skigh said, there were early stories about Libby, but she vanished in the middle of the night, a hammer was found where she was last seen, and there was a pretty quick arrest.

Yes they had sightings and suspect very early in. Nothing here. More and more I think it’s someone she knows - did they stop and offer her a lift? I’m sure the police have quizzes everyone who knew her and her family to detect anyone with a grudge or a reason to abduct her. Or I still think it’s someone she arranged to meet and it’s gone wrong.

I'm just playing devils advocate really, but there was no smoking gun with Claudia Lawrence or Corrie Mckeague.

I suppose it just comes down to what titillates the masses. Very sad.

The hammer and other things found, were very soon, said by the police as having nothing to do with Libby's disappearance.

Both at the beginning were missing young women.

This keeps slipping off page 1

From Buzzacot Lane onwards, is it pedestrian all the way or is there car access?

  • #956
That is an interesting point about car access.

  • #957
I wonder is there still searches going on for Leah or her belongings, any of the locals on here know?

  • #958
The police must still be investigating.

The hammer and other things found, were very soon, said by the police as having nothing to do with Libby's disappearance.

But that didn't stop the sensationalised headlines about it or speculation that police must think something happened to her. Which then gave the media a story to work with.

Have the police even said outright that Leah might have come to harm? All I remember is them encouraging her to get in touch if she can.

I'm assuming the police are working away behind the scenes. I don't really believe they're baffled, maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but maybe they have a POI or an idea of what really happened Leah. I'm hopeful this silence is the calm before the storm and there's some sort of update soon.
