The thing is- we don't know when the car was parked there- if they parked there early in the evening there might have been limited spaces to park available?

I know Libby didn't have her phone on her that night- but I wonder if PR had his and they can see where he was while he was out and about.

Also I don't think the person in the CCTV is rolling a cigarette- looks like they are texting- but someone rightfully pointed out the screen would light up. However if you roll a cigarette- you tend to light it up after rolling it.
Was there a report which said the car had been there only minutes? I'll see if I can find it.

I think on the video voiceover it says car has been parked there for 20 minutes.

Two questions just to clear my mind

1) my son is at university in Reading , lots of the roads have parking permits to allow residents to park in certain roads , is anything like that in place in certain roads in Hull ?

2) the road where the arrested person lives , do students live in this road , I’m asking as someone said it may be a 4 bedroom house . My son rents with 4 others in Reading to a house and street similar to this and the rent is well over £2000 a month . I’m asking how much would the rent be where the arrested man lives , would he get benefits on top of his wages to pay the rent , a 4 bedroom house possibly with only 2 small kids seems a luxury rather than requirement , I wondered if they possibly had a lodger also to help with rent.

In which case- THAT makes your point about the deliberate parking very very interesting!

I cant help but think thst its unlikely libby will be found. If the person arrested is gulity of harming Libby he had plently of time to cover his tracks. In the samantha eastwood case they were pretty much on to Stirling straightaway yet they only found her body after he led them to under whilst on bail

I hope not, her poor parents and family need to know where she is. Otherwise they are in turmoil forever.

Just watched that section and it was bad wording/understanding by the studio presenter I think. The on-scene reporter confirmed at the end of the segment Police have until 21:00 tonight (though this is technically wrong as it has been explained by others here!).

Would she even know her postcode by heart after living there for a few months and being so drunk? Something tells me she was unlikely to be wanting a taxi to take her home, she had just walked from home to get to the bench. I think she thought she was heading back to the club. If he told his sister he put her postcode into his satnav I think it's likely to be a lie.

I've been going over and over this in my mind too. Who knows their new postcode (unless its an easily memorable one) so soon after moving in and add in being very drunk, almost impossible.

On the ITV cctv report, the reporter says the car was parked for a total of 20 minutes. 11.40pm is when Libby was spotted on the bench

in my opinion the passenger enters the car freely. The driver is stood by her, i can make out his head above the car and two legs are clearly visable on the person getting in the car. It would be difficult to put something forcefulky into a car without bending over it.

This is my opinion too. Though I see him put a dark material over her, over her knees/top of legs? To try and keep her warm?

good point about cost of rent - with them both working I doubt they would get beneifts - with the wife being on mat leave money will be tight so him doing illegal taxing makes sense.

Some landlords prefer families as student up sticks at end of term so no income

Not necessarily. If I was about to go for a drive I would roll one for the journey..

I'd suspect they have probably just cut out the "boring" bits so that people only look at the bits they are interested in getting information on. Additionally it may be that they feel releasing the whole thing might mean some not watching it through properly or concentrating on irrelevant bits. Probably keen only to get responses on the particular important bits.

OR as in the Corrie McKeague case, footage that was deemed 'too disturbing' was cut out of CCTV footage.

Rents are rather different in Hull compared to Reading!

If you’re rolling a cigarette, why would you choose the option of doing it outside in the wind rather than in the car?

IIRC because so many jobs are badly paid it is not uncommon to get housing allowance even where both spouses are working.

VERY good point about a possible lodger and that would fit in with the neighbour saying he often saw two men in that car and didn't know which one owned it.

If you don't want bits of tobacco falling out in the car maybe? And if you don't smoke in the car and are getting out as soon as you roll it- if that's what they are doing- looks like they just wanted to sit down real quick to roll it.

It's not your car? Or you have children and your wife wants the car to be smoke free?

He could have been out of the wind where he was sat and it also enabled a view up towards the bench whilst he did it.

That said, sitting in the driver's seat and using the door mirror to monitor that area would have been more 'stealthy'

For reference - a 4 bedroom house on a sharing basis in Raglan St would be £75 per week per room.
