Just wanted to mention that in all my 40 something years of being born and bred in Yorkshire, I have NEVER heard the expression "tenfoot" though it might be an East Yorks thing.

It's basically a back alley that runs behind a row of terraced houses for anyone that cba to google. These are very common but I've never known them called tenfoots. For example you'd have Websleuths Street and behind it would be called Back Websleuths Street aka back road or back alley. These would typically be a narrow road with access to small yards at the backs of the houses, probably containing bins (and a thrown out sofa / mattress / fridge or two!)

The one they're searching looks slightly different to what I have described, as instead of another row of houses on the other side of the tenfoot there is grass with sheds on and then the river

He didn't necessarily need to be unhappy to go drinking at the Welly. He might have the odd lads night out with his friends or something, I don't think it's odd that a 24 year old might occasionally go to the pub/club whether he's happily married or not.

Agree. It's just your comment about only being 24 made me realise that he might be unhappy in his current situation, given what his mum said.

I think he may well have been doing unregistered cab work for extra money. When people say they see him rolling a ciggie, I never see him light it or even raise his hands to his lips. I however do believe a young lady on a night out without a purse may have her cash seperated in her pockets and crumpled a bit, he may have been counting to see how far he could take her. I think he was counting and straightening cash. Then he assisted her into the vehicle and lord knows what happened next. IMHO

Interesting the car was parked there for 20minutes, if that’s correct, that would not be in keeping with someone looking for illegal taxi fares, you are not going to get much passing trade down a dark quiet cul de sac. Plus surely if that was your cash in hand job on the side you’d want to get as many fares as poss in a short timescale and the just go home.
That’s made me think it’s more sinister now, and PR was starting to plan something out.

I had to Google it earlier and it said:

"Noun. tenfoot (plural tenfoots) (Britain, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Hull) A ten-foot-wide alleyway, usually behind one's house."

I'm born and raised in Yorkshire and never heard "tenfoot" in my whole life. Neither has my partner and he's 10 years older than me. I'd probably just call it an alley or backstreet.

I did google that! According to the Urban Dictionary it is (generally) a 10 ft wide passageway behind houses.

When people say they see him rolling a ciggie, I never see him light it or even raise his hands to his lips. IMHO

But look again. The video skips a chunk

00:02:20 he sits down and starts rolling up
00:02:37 he's still rolling up as the cyclist passes
Then it jumps to
00:05:04 where he gets up.

So I conclude that he smoked for a couple of minutes and they just haven't shown it. That's what voiceover woman says and presumably she's seen the full lot.

RE: Tenfoots - I've never heard the phrase either, I've heard back alley, alley, midden, back lane but never heard Tenfoot

The car pulls off far too quickly for me near the end of the video, particularly when it’s not a main road. It exhibits behaviour of someone who has done something wrong and time is of the essence.

The fact the car had to initially go on Cottingham road, there is no way the police don’t have more CCTV footage of this journey and clearly they are holding much more back.

  • Has he had an accomplice? Two men heard muttering after screams. What was happening whilst he was sat out of his drivers seat?
  • It’s crucial to confirm whether the other car or cyclist has come forward to understand their roles in all this
  • Does he have family living over here? Other members that have not been mentioned yet? Is he trying to protect someone else involved or is he a lone operator?

Aha! Sooooo was the footage of the cars going the main road with a police car - that someone said on here didn't look like the right car - was this shown to OUT the person driving it - sending a message saying 'we see you, we know you were also involved'?

Someone mentioned them the other day I thought they might have already been searched being in that area?
If they haven't searched them before today and find her in there then I'd consider that a monumental screw-up. Obviously be glad they found her but knowing they could have found her a week ago...

I feel he’s going to be released

First post for me.

I'm in Yorkshire and quite familiar with Hull University so this case has really grabbed my attention.

I think if the cctv footage is Libby been put into a car (which I think the police already know it is) then it was an opportunist abduction.

Gut feeling is he saw her on main road and then looped around the back streets were he could watch her and then has waited till coast is clear to take her.

Pretty brazen act though...Makes me think has he attempted something like this before.

I think the other missing minutes of footage that have not been released will show conclusively Libby been led to the car from the cctv that picked her up on the bench.

Have a gut feeling that today will show massive developments in the case.

Thoughts are with her family and friends as sadly I think the chances of her been found safe and well are very low now which is completely heart breaking.

Where did it say his sister lived in Hull please ? I’ve missed that

We are not allowed to sleuth family members.

In uk you don’t ever put a baby seat in front seat. I doubt it. He’s got 2 kids. He’d have 2 child seats, both in the back.

You can use a rear-facing seat on the passenger side if the airbag is deactivated.

Only just had chance to catch up on all this .. so everything linked to the case so far .. relevant or not ..happened in close proximity?
But Surely "both" CCTV clips released and the screams at the park cant all be connected due to timing ?

The screams and running man sighting seems a good lead ...could intermittent screaming be drowning ?

Sorry if I'm repeating earlier stuff but I have tried to read most

Welcome!

Thankyou

And no never heard it called a ten foot to be honest! We would call it an alley or ginnel where I live.

Have one running directly behind my house but no garage or storage units it's just an empty space with a brick building at the far end that is something to do with the electricity company.

Often have items dumped there from burglaries etc...

The more I read of this the more I'm put in mind of The Beast of Blatinglass
