21:12 has passed with no word on charges so I presume he's set to be released?

Police have been granted an extension until 9:11pm tomorrow evening.

They've had the final extension of 24 hours. It's linked further up the thread

...I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a criminal history, maybe issues re stalking .. past behaviour always being best indicator of any future behaviour IMO
If he did have issues re stalking it means he could have been watching Libby for a while, or have seen her around

For all this looking at benches etc., the crucial point is that they still haven't found her. The police I feel are probably sure they have the right person, but he's either denying or not commenting, and they don't yet have that all important evidence that ties him with her sufficiently to make a charge that is going to stand up in court.
What if he really doesn’t know where she is. Didn’t someone report seeing a man run from the park as if being chased. And the screams went on for 15 minutes. Maybe Libby sobered up enough to get away and with that park being dark as heck, managed to hide somewhere after a struggle or period of being chased in the dark. He realises he’s lost her and gets out of there before she makes it to safety and the police arrive. Libby remains hidden, afraid to move in case he is still around and then...?

That letterbox, front porch efit story is terrifying. I’m edging towards the land of No Sleep.

Edit. I mean it is a long shot, but interesting article on tunnels in Hull and how some are under private businesses. A tour of the tunnels under Hull

does Anyone know if this bench is in the location which matches where the reports of screams and a man running?
Surely it must? The police seem quite certain that whatever happened happened in that park. Maybe they've got cctv of him leaving the park or something.

The last and final extension granted, the same area's repeatedly searched - Sounds like the police have strong suspicions but not enough evidence. However something new must have come to light in order for the extension to be granted

Vaguely, but it probably looks like 90% of men in Hull tbh

Yupp.

The women involved should be able to tell police if it was PR. But the "drawing" could be any dark haired man with glasses.

its rubbish we can't talk about things we read on social media coz there is loads being said

It's hard Paddy, but much of what you read on social media is pure bollocks. There were people stating as fact on there today that he had been released. Wasn't true, was it.

Now, you don't know my real name, nobody here does as far as I know, I could go and post on that FB page right now and I could say anything I wanted. What if I pretend I'm a cleaner at the police station and that he confessed to everything, or that my cousin works there and says he has just been found dead in his cell, or my neighbour works at a mortuary and Libby has definitely been found. Imagine how fast that would all spread and soon be regarded as “fact”? I could create a convincing fake profile just for the purpose of lying and trolling. And unfortunately, that does happen, it really does, there are sickos about and they like trolling news stories.

And so we let the newspapers print it first, because then nobody can turn round and blame us for spreading rumours.

That's why.

I think it's an awful efit.... my 3 year old can draw better than that!
It isn't an efit done by the police. It was drawn by someone who saw him. But yeah it seems weird releasing one like that lol.

Yeah I agree with you, it's just frustrating because it would be good to discuss things with you guys ! But I do agree.

This is exactly what I had in mind all along. Then poor Libby has an accident. but is the river near there?

OMG it does. Oh no....<modsnipped> Don't they say flashers are a pre-curser to carrying out attacks?

That's correct, I've had the same happen to me, and I wasn't the only person to report the same guy, fortunately I'm ballsy enough and went berserk shouting at the man but the police took the whole thing very very seriously as they thought this guy was escalating & was about to go on to do something worse. Apparently since I went at him, there have been no more reports, but that sort of behaviour is definitely a pre-curser to more violent offending.

I hear there have been checking the bench but how many other people sat down or used that bench in the last 9 days? they did not exactly cordon it off did they?
