I did follow that case but don't remember this, did they say what they were looking for?

No suzy I don't think they ever commented, just we saw it in photos on MSM. Possibly quicker than getting ladders and manpower to check difficult spaces? Not sure jmo.
Edit to add - maybe keys here? I was pondering they were looking for keys when the drains were being inspected so thoroughly on this case?

Are you serious?

I know this isn't directed at me but I'm deadly serious in saying that no way is trafficking involved if that's what you're asking, whatever has happened to poor Libby she's not been sold as a human slave.

This is the first time I’ve followed a case .... is it normal that we have this little information offered up by the police ? I have faith in the police force of course but I’m still thinking he could be released tonight

Police drafts in extra support for Libby investigation
Police have drafted in extra support from other regional teams to help with their investigation into missing Libby Squire. Bude Park in Bransholme is being used by police as a landing site.

Hi, again my post may get lost/ignored but I asked last night how anyone could access Oak Road playing field after midnight as it looks like there are gates (locked?).
As well is it possible to drive all the way down to the 'benches CSI are examining' ? How is it possible to get a recalcitrant possibly inebriated person down to the benches area? I am struggling with this so TIA if you could help,
Edit to add - I am struggling to understand why all the searches in Oak Road playing field.

Jessie, someone posted ( on the previous thread I think ) that it is not possible to drive a car down the pathways in the park.....
but, as to the gates - I wondered that, but perhaps they are not always locked at night ?

As the clock is ticking down rapidly IF Bude Park is connected to LS then I am sure that helicopters/ large police presence would be necessary to speed everything up and obtain the evidence/forensics needed.

I’m not sure what happens if they don’t process evidence in time and the 9.11pm deadline is reached, does the suspect walk free as there are no more extensions?

If they still had suspicions but awaited forensic evidence, then he would be released on bail, in order to restict his movements.
However, I dont think they would carry on with the full 96 hours if they don't have something concrete to charge him with - it would be more sensible to have released him earlier and then have some time left on the clock for a re arrest.

Yeh they will only release what they want you to hear.

The fact they are not releasing updates and appealing for information every five minutes actually makes me think they don't need to because they have a lot already.

What they don't have is Libby.

On other sites people are saying if they had evidence they would have charged by now but once charged they can't ask him anymore questions.

Think they are trying to get as much as they can out of him before 9.11pm and a charge will come very near to that...Unless of course there is a major development before then.

That's just my opinion though.

Please can we stop with the trafficking silliness?

These kind of urban myths are harmful

I don't believe she was trafficked as she is 21, would be missed straight away, and not lured away etc. Many a reason.

However I did spend about an hour debating this with a friend of mine as he thought it might be plausible for a number of reasons.

This is a discussion forum and people are entitled to have a theory or opinion, and to dismiss it as 'silliness' does sound a bit harsh. With all due respect. No offence intended.

Thanks Alyce. I did ask about those footpaths if a car could drive down them, but walking on google it looks like there are barriers. Why have gates if they aren't locked? Just one question I haven't seen an answer to - ie how could he get LS across the area if not directly in a car?

Perhaps they're flying in divers to explore the bodies of water near Bude Park.

It all seems so desperate to get evidence I'm seriously wondering if they have very little on him at present

That's my impression too.

So yesterday they used infra red cameras .... do they just find someone’s who’s alive ? Sorry it’s all new to me
If so .... surely that means they have no reason (evidence) so believe she’s not alive ... so yesterday they couldn’t have charged with murder

I don't want to go there, but he is a butcher by trade. And it's highly possible that this is not the suspects first time at the rodeo...I wonder if the suspect has a special secret spot (garage, shed, or dry dock) where he can wash away blood with a hose?

Where are people seeing a photo of police removing a box from the Raglan Street property with a black blind type object in it? Can’t find that particular photo.

It’s worth keeping in mind Occam’s Razor - the simplest solution is the most likely to be true. If Libby was abuducted, it was an unplanned and opportunistic crime. It’s highly unlikely that anything like drugs, accomplices, trafficking or clandestine relationships were involved.

She was drunk, vulnerable and attractive, on her own in public late at night. Sadly, that’s more than enough to explain why and how a man would bring her to harm.

The black object that I said could be some sort of blackout object was seen being carried in by a police officer (Not carried out) someone else said it could be a tripod. We don't know for sure what it was.

It wasn't in a box.

Police were seen taking cardboard boxes in and out of the house.

The black item was carried in separately.

I do think the other person was right that it was some sort of tripod though ive been looking and they tend to use a black out film on the windows when looking for evidence rather than some kind of blind.

One thought as to why they have held him as long as they have is probably due to translation issues if there is a language barrier and the police will want to make sure they are understanding everything properly and that the suspect understands the questions properly

Infra red detects heat - and only a living body emits heat. I agree this suggests they have no evidence yet that she’s not alive - though successfully hiding a captive person seems even more difficult and unlikely than being able to hide a deceased one.

I’m honestly amazed that either is at all possible in this day and age in such a built-up and populated area, with CCTV and number plate recognition software in action. I wonder if he had access to another vehicle - from the search locale it certainly seems to suggest he didn’t take the known one out of the immediate area.
