Because if they had found something they WOULD have charged.

So let's say they find Libby's DNA in his car.

Now what?

What can they charge?

Right. So his own sister was approached by the media and just decides on a whim to tell them that her brother did indeed have the missing girl in his car - even though she has no reason whatsoever for saying it? Do you actually believe that she hadn't received that information from her brother? What about the claim that Libby threw herself at PR - did his sister merely imagine that too?

Check sarcasm meter and adjust accordingly!

OH MY GOD. I've just been out shopping so got 100 messages to read so don't know if this has been mentioned, so sorry if it has.

I've just been talking to my partner and realised something...

WHY would PR put Libby's address in the SatNav when clearly he knows where Wellesley is because he was literally masturbating on Wellesley only a few days earlier?? Did he do it on purpose just to make it look like he was going to take her home but he didn't? He KNEW where Wellesley is!

In my local town I know where places are but not the street names and I've lived here for way longer that PR has been in England, not knowing the names is totally believable to me, not an issue at all

She didn’t say that he put Libby in the car did she? She said a crying girl. That could have been anyone at that time on student night. I just can’t see how you’d make it stand up. I honestly think this is the gutter press manipulating his family’s poor English.
I agree. If there was video of her getting in a car there would be video of her getting out. If she really got in somebody’s car they would not have just driven around the corner with her they surely would have got out of the area. If that is the case then why are LE only searching in very localised area?

Yes we do. It's been all over the news what she said - whether it's true or not - we DO know what she said, at least what she said to the papers.

what if his sister knows more than shes letting on. what if it was an accident how libby died and the sister is covering for him for the sake of the children. Bloods thicker than water and all that .

She very explicitly said that Libby was in his car. She also said that Libby asked him to take her home (which almost certainly was not true as she just lived around the corner) and that Libby 'threw herself' at him in the car (which is again almost certainly not true). So at a very early stage in the investigation PR told his family that Libby was in his car but lied about the reason and what happened there. In summary, we have somebody who has been charged with grossly perverted acts admitting to his family that Libby was in his car on the night she disappeared but lying about the circumstances. And there are some folk who are still desperate to believe that he's innocent.

Can you link to where she said ‘libby’ please as I think she just said a girl ?

It's almost as if they have CCTV and/or locational evidence to go on ....

Because if they had found something they WOULD have charged.

As one who has followed countless investigations, it takes time to build a case and process evidence. Prosecutors want to ensure an airtight case before going before the court. It is not unlikely that more charges could follow, and soon, jmo. Hoping the suspect talks.

If somebody got her into the car with the intention of taking advantage of her vulnerable state for their own perverted ends, the local park would be the obvious place to go. They may not have intended to kill her at that stage, but ended up doing so to stop her screams or because they realised they needed to cover their tracks.

Yes we do. It's been all over the news what she said - whether it's true or not - we DO know what she said, at least what she said to the papers.
I think the full extent of what PR's sister said about the alleged meeting is:
“He was driving and he stopped because he noticed a girl crying. She asked him to take her home, so he put her address into his sat nav and wanted to do just that. Apparently she threw herself at him, but he pushed her away because he is a married man."
So, nothing explicit about Libby getting in or out of his car, unless there's a further quote from the sister I have missed.

Hey all. Just caught up on all the threads! I’m a local and live off Chanterlands near the uni where I am also a (mature) student. Not much happening at uni today compared to last week where there were loads of police milling about. I’m going shopping soon but afterwards might take the dog for a walk down Newland and see what’s going on.

At first. I was convinced she would be found in the waterways as does happen now and again. Then the arrest happened and the cctv and now I’m not sure. I wonder why she didn’t go to the university if she was locked out of home. The library is 24 hours and she could access facebook etc to contact friends. Just one thought I had.

Keep us posted with what you see!
I'm curious to know why they're back in Oak Fields since they've already searched it loads

The sister who is in Norway was speaking for the wife.

That is why the article refers to "family sources"

You seem awfully certain?
Because unlike many on here I look at the evidence and at this moment in time there is no evidence that she was ever in any car involved in this case so in fact the evidence shows she was not in the car. When I see Evidence she was in a car I will happily change my stance.

Imagine when the police officer says, "can you describe the stolen items?"

This incident might have only come to light once LE got a sense of his proclivities and they started asking around to see if anything of that nature had been stolen and not reported?

Though if there was a break-in and someone's underwear drawer was left open maybe they did call police and tell them that there were some specific items missing...

TMI maybe but my underwear drawer is always open and I would have no clue if someone broke in and took a few items:)

He obviously told her this (if he did actually tell her this) before he was arrested - what a weird thing to say on the phone to your sister in a different country. Was he beginning to panic that the press had started to broadcast the disappearance and brought it up in conversation in case his family heard about it and mentioned it to him - like "Hey, did you know a girl has gone missing round the corner from you?". Or does he call her frequently and they normally discuss every detail of their day? Who knows, who even knows if he really did say anything to his sister - but if he didn't, I seriously cannot understand why she'd make it up and go to the press with it.

Exactly! I posted almost the same word for word at the end of the last thead, what were the circumstances surrounding such an odd conversational topic?

Hello, yet another newbie here who has lurked for a few days desperately hoping for news of Libby being found safe.

I’ve read most of the 3 previous threads and apologise for retreading well worn ground or asking stupid questions, but there are a few things I can’t shift an uneasy feeling about…

I’m curious what type of car went past the parked car on the CCTV, could it by chance be the same silver car as the one driven by the helpful grey bearded man that approached Libby at the bench? Is it possible he drove round to Haworth Street after offering assistance to Libby?

If the passing car is same as helpful grey bearded man’s; could he and PR both be part time unlicensed taxi drivers, working the same area, or even know one another?

Is it possible it is the same car that the man charged with rape on the 19th January was driving? The guy lives just around the corner on Libby’s road, has a similar car description and appearance to helpful grey bearded man. Could “Outraging Public Decency” relate to dogging, as, with a little research, I believe that the skatepark that was cordoned off after the rape is next to a known dogging site? At a stretch could the local dogging activities also link PR and bearded man charged with rape?

I realise that the helpful grey bearded man who approached Libby has been “identified” by the police, but does that necessarily mean cleared? Could the police have him identified, but are watching him? Also, for some reason I find the term “that he ‘really helped’ with their investigations” slightly odd police language.

…So many silver cars, bearded men, charges of sex offences in such a small area, are they all coincidences?
The bearded man was cleared as far as I am aware. I think the language used by the police was due to the level of public interest in this case and perhaps to deter hounding of the man concerned by the media/public because the case is so sensitive. Not absolutely certain though, just my opinion.

I wouldn't be able to do Bill's job. Not in a situation like this. I'd be like "come on son, give her up"
