Remarkably the scum bags had managed to completely clean all evidence out of the bathroom. Far harder than dumping a body somewhere it won't be found. Taking it around to your mates house for safe keeping has to be one of the dumbest things anyone could do.

Didn't really read up on Becky Watts too much just found the whole thing too upsetting and didn't want to read anymore...but is that for real? No forensic evidence in the room he dismembered her?? That's some massive clean up job!! Sounds like the police were lucky that he was stupid enough to hide the body parts with friends or he might have got away with it for longer.

Found the pair of them totally sickening, she was a kid for Christ's sake and he was her family!

How Could anyone be so sick as to do that to your own step sister.

Apart from PR, his wife and two children, did anyone else live in the house with them? Did one of the questions that the neighbours were asked not ask them if they knew who lived there? Not sure how many rooms there are in th house but it wouldn't be uncommon for them to be sub-letting a bedroom (without the landlord knowing) to someone else.

In my opinion. This guy that the police arrested is just a small time flash your bits about tea leaf, i just don't see any signs of kidnap or murder. Will be interesting to see what avenue of investigation the police take next over the next few days,

It will indeed be interesting to see how this all unfolds in the days to come. My thoughts at the moment are opposite in the sense that I wonder if this is a very sick, violent predator who so far has gone under the radar or perhaps escalated in his crimes. He could even be a budding serial killer, imo.

Burglary is not an offense that is necessarily uncommon to these types of perps imo, and these actions imo only demonstrate the propensity for one to cross boundaries to be sexually inappropriate/get what they want. Breaking in requires a certain level of brazenness is my opinion so I’m not quick to brush him off as far as possibly being responsible for more than just that. Does this mean all burglars sexually offend? No. But stealing sex toys? Again, murderer Russell Williams comes to mind.

You have to admit if he hasn't got anything to do with her disappearance he is the unluckiest person in the world.

We have seen some crazy coincidences here, that’s for sure. I always expect the unexpected.

I think the police are likely doing the best they can, and can not be blamed for thoroughly investigating this avenue considering his proximity, his sexual offenses and being the last known person to see her (if I’m understanding correctly, still a little confused about all this car business, trying to catch up). As long as LE still follows up in other tips, etc I can not fault them for devoting their utmost attention to the POI.

Agree they will have wasted an enormous amount of time and resources at a critical stage of the investigation.

I am hoping and thinking that this is a full blown investigation which would cover many avenues, while it’s obvious this person is a focus for obvious reasons.

A big part of the investigative process is ruling things out, search areas and people. IF they were able to definitively rule this guy out via DNA or alibi, etc, it wouldn’t be a waste imo but more so progress. If Libby was my family member I’d be demanding they tear that house down.

Just pondering - how would one take vibrators from a house without breaking in? I reckon it'd be pretty difficult to go into someones house (even if unlocked) and to easily and quickly find (usually stashed away) vibrators, then leave without being seen?

No, I had a friend in London who was in flare share of about 4 or 5 people and one of them found a man in her bedroom.

He was already caught and in prison in 2016 for 17 months I believe, so the flasher in June 2017 e-fit couldn’t have been him. Just wondered whether they did actually get anyone for it, as seems a coincidence that PR appeared to move from York shortly afterwards. It appears to be unusual for said flasher to be a younger bloke as the e-fit suggests don’t you think...

Yep. I had a ground floor room right next to the front door once. Someone going out must have left the door unlocked, because I came out of the kitchen to see some lad stroll in the front door and head for my bedroom. Ran after him down the road with the only thing I had to hand - a plate of pasta!

Presuming these are student houses he’s burgled though, I reckon with a bit of observation he’d be able to give himself ample time to find something such as sex toys once he’s got into a room. Not even sure they’d be necessarily be that well hidden, student rooms can be pretty sparse in terms of storage anyway

Ditto, Daylight after work I was sat on the floor in the front room on the old dial telephone (cough) , bay window open (ground floor) when a man popped through the window - half his body, from waist up came right into the room. All he did was stay there far too long but was scanning every nook and cranny in the room, looking to see what he could steal. Me telling him to 'eff off' etc didn't matter, he was scanning my room until he was done. That was mid 1980's. Must be worse now.

Here is a Detective working on the case quoted on this article as saying they believe now she may also have been seen in Beresford Avenue. After the bench and after midnight. Friend reveals last time he saw missing Libby Squire, 21, as hundreds join search

The Police will know far more than the public. He must have been out and about the night she went missing - the Police will have questioned his wife as to his whereabouts that night. If he had been at home, he would have had an alibi. He is still a 'person of interest'. If he was out in his car - he wouldn't have been drinking, I wondered if he worked backshifts at work (or possibly told his wife he was)? If he hadn't been working that night, how would he explain to his wife where he was going at that time of night? To a mates, illegal taxi driving to make extra £, out with the dog (although you would think he would have walked)? The area that the car was parked - did someone say it was a known area for prostitues?
