Oh yes, here it is - hadn't seen full quote before. "Speaking to the Telegraph, the witness' father, whose house overlooks the fields, said: "My son heard the screaming - he heard about six or seven screams - and he went to look out of the window."He said it sounded like he was moving. It was intermittent."He went on: "The man he saw wasn't dressed for a night out. He wasn't dressed for the weather. “He saw him running for around 40 yards, sprinting at times. He said he was on his own and he wasn’t looking back.""
Libby Squire: Police examining CCTV footage which may show missing student

(NB I think Telegraph made a typo at "it sounded like he was moving", it should read, "it sounded like SHE was moving" - the son referring only to female screams in his own statement to press.)

So creepy. Moving. Sprinting at times. Chasing her in the dark?

I’ve watched the cctv and she is drunk obviously, but I have been in the same situation many times. If that was her screaming she must have been quite aware of what was happening though. Even when drunk your adrenaline kicks in, could it have been she tried to cross the river during low tide to escape him and got caught in the mud

Really cannot bare to think of her terrified and alone like that.

That's what always gets me the fear that they must have been feeling.

Wow I think that’s got to be him, his clothing has been a giveaway throughout this case. In the cctv footage everyone commented on the unusual choice and the witness overlooking the park noticed that too. Shorts on a winter night. This witness statement could be the reason the police are focusing on that area

Good point. This sure matches up with what could have happened to her and the description of him seems to match the clothes the person in video had on.
Described as not dressed for the weather. Lots of us thought that.

I hope LE knows pretty much exactly where he was running from. That should give them a good idea where to search.

If she went in the river and was being carried downstream then it could explain the intermittent screams as she moved along in the water.

Its hard to understand why LE has not been able to find her yet. Unless she is on bottom of water and its difficult to find a body in water. Need to keep looking.

It would have been at least an hour and a half since Libby had had a drink by this stage too I would think

I honestly think it might be the red brick/ red roof house in the park carpark. It's way nearer than any other house and the back overlooks the pond area. Would be interesting to know whether the windows are visible through the trees.
(house is in the centre of this map) Google Maps
And he wouldn't necessarily have parked in the car park, he could have turned right for a few metres and parked in the lane from which you can get into the park.

What an isolated location, brrr. I'd assumed from satellite this was a municipal building within the car park, but now see it's separated from the car park by a wall or fence, with a car parked outside, so I guess it is a residence. No house number/name at the gate though. Agree this may well be location for the running-man's witness.

Just noticed the BBC have updated their article and have included the Welly CCTV. They didn't ever mention the Haworth Street CCTV.

I wonder why?

I know that the police have been at the park area pretty much every day but why are they only there for a few hours at a time, with the severity of this case I would have thought it would make sense to be there from the break of dawn until dusk, not just from around 11am until mid afternoon. Is there a reason for this? I still think it's really odd how those forensics guys were at the park bench in the dark quite late one night when all the other searching takes place in broad daylight.

I think this is slowly going to go under the radar unfortunately

As a noob that hasnt had chance to really explore the functionality of the site in any detail (and being a Luddite ) can someone just clarify how I initiate a pm or a priv group chat? Are those chats exempt from TOC? Are they scrutinised?

Thanks

Edit. Sounds a bit weirdo , so ...its just a wonder if theres a way to discuss rumour/supposition without breaking toc or getting in mod trouble!!

Important info from Mods on first page of the thread. You should find an answer there.

Yes, you can start a private "conversation" with someone by clicking on their tag name. Then you will see a box pop up and an option for "Starting a Conversation" is what they are called.

Other posters cannot view them unless they are invited to your personal conversation. Its like a group private thread in a way.

The private conversations do not have to follow the normal TOS rules that a normal thread follows.

Hope this helps.

I wonder this too - there was a murder in a far bigger park in Glasgow (Moira Jones in 2008) and police closed the entire park for two weeks. They had found Moira's body immediately, though, so this was definitely a crime scene.

Piece on Sky News right now by their reporter in Hull. It'll no doubt be repeated at 3pm if anyone wants to see it. Nothing new really. Divers with full breathing apparatus are thoroughly searching the pond again. Some new photos released, one of her in South of France in her gap year. The video of her walking to Wellys shown again.

Conversations in your inbox:
One other important thing new members may not be aware of. You may start a conversation in your inbox and invite up to 20 members to converse. The conversations in the inbox area are totally private and are not moderated. Moderators cannot see it. Therefore, you can discuss rumor or other information which is against TOS in the private conversation area. The conversations have the same lay out as the public threads. The conversations can be started at any time. When a thread is closed the discussion can continue in that area.

Do not mention or ask someone to invite you to a conversation or to send you a private message out on the open discussion public board. If you want information from a member just initiate a conversation with them privately.

The Welly cctv didn't show a suspect and the Haworth St one did.

Maybe they are not wanting to show anything that could prejudice a fair trial at a later date.

Think the BBC are much more cautious about these things that other media outlets.

In the Moira Jones case there was dashcam footage of her murderer abducting her, he walked her away. Now I'm wondering if Libby was actually abducted by car at all or if she's also on cctv somewhere being walked away by PR or someone else.

You don't think the Haworth St cctv is LS getting in the car?

I know we can't prove it but it would be waay too much of a coincidence for me that a passenger gets in that car probably no more than 20ft from where LS was seen and it not be her.

Just my observation though.
