I don’t know if there are different breeds of foxes that emit different sounds or what but I can honestly say that twice in my life I thought I heard a woman being attacked - once, I was right. Second time, it was a vixen.

And I live in the countryside, am used to hearing foxes scream but can honestly say on two differenet occaisons over many years, I've heard two that have been more human like in their sound.

Does anyone else think that now, after 13 days, if a body is found, it'll be by chance by maybe a dog walker or someone spotting it on a river bank?

Sadly, yes.

"14:07
Police press conference
Detectives investigating Libby Squire’s disappearance will holding a press conference at 2.45pm.

It will be live streamed on our Facebook page here."

Libby Squire latest as search for Hull student enters 14th day

The press conference is to be live streamed on Hull Live's Facebook page. I don't have Facebook so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to view it.

Oh please let Libby be found. I wonder if its just an update. Come on Libby.

And on both of those occasions did you go out and find the foxes responsible for the noise, confirming that it was foxes and not humans making the sounds you heard?

No mention of an impending press conference on Humberbeat's official twitter page. Is this normal? Do they usually allow MSM to announce police press conferences before they've announced themselves?

So that's at least 3 of you locals that have been or are going. Any one else? Much appreciated. Let us know your findings or feelings.

@Strontium69
@scootermuppet
@Kolumbo

Thank you all!
I go most days to walk my dog and the police have been around each day and generally been friendly. I would normally walk around the pond but since this happened, I just haven't been able to - ridiculous but feels a bit disrespectful to Libby whilst the police are continuing to look there.

I usually go up onto the riverbank as well and a few times there have been police in boats with detection equipment going along the river.

The car park is locked every night as it gets dark, but there are lots of other ways into it as well along the tree line from the car park that runs down the back of Claremont Ave and there are gaps in trees to get onto the fields, no fencing.

The riverbank going towards the Humber gets very quiet after the park, virtually no one walks that way as the residential areas are the other way but it's a long way from the car park area to even get to the pond or the river bank.

The car park at the other end is hardly ever locked on an evening, but they will have good reason not to be looking at that end I guess.

20 Yrs in April since Jill Dando killed

Jill Dando - Wikipedia

Ouchy! For those who don't know, Jill Dando was the presenter of Crimewatch for a few years, before she suddenly got shot dead on her doorstep.

It ran from 1984 until 2017 and was on once a month. Jill Dando presented it from 1995 until her death in 1999 which absolutely shocked the nation.

The last line of every episode was "don't have nightmares, do sleep well"

We’re British love! We work in miles and kilometers. We also say alumiNIUM, coriander and petrol station

Eh??!!

I'm English and I have never found the need to measure anything in km except for fun runs. Where are you using those? Every single road sign under 1/4 mile is in yards, I worry about road safety if people don't have a concept for how far an upcoming hazard is or in this case how far a possible suspect might be running

Thank you, Craggy! I have added you to the list with the others if you don't mind. Perhaps you should all wear a Websleuths badge to identify yourselves to each other lol.

And welcome!!

I did when I heard what sounded like a screaming woman years ago. But it turned out to be a fox.

Unplanned presser, I hope it's not bad news
I hope it's just NEW news. If all they say is the same "we're still treating this as a misper, if anyone knows anything call 101, thanks everyone for being so great" I will be very cranky. Obviously though I do hope it's good news.

Someone put the kettle on and we can all watch it together.
Milk and half a sugar for me please.

The funny thing is, if we all lived near eachother, I really would sit and watch a press conference with you guys just so we can all share the emotion lol.

Hi there. I think this will happen anyway, but can I ask someone to post link to the press conference once it’s over - whether to video or article summarizing? I unfortunately have to be in a long meeting when it happens and just want to be able to find news easily when I’m out. Especially because I am in U.S., so it’s not easily found here. Thanks all! Hoping for helpful news...
