If they thought Libby was getting in the smoking guys car cctv , would the police let itv show us what they thought was an actual abduction? Can you show an abduction to the public ???

I’ll be there tomorrow and I’ll take some of the carpark, red house and wider shots so you can see the whole area. If this is not allowed just let me know ok?

I'm sure the Police think that it is Libby entering PR's car at 12.05. His sister also basically confirmed that her brother game her a lift home. For it to be someone else helped into the car, in that location, the exact time she is known to become absent from the bench, and for that someone to be a pervert to university girls and just as he drops her "home" the foxes begin screaming in the park. Too many coincidences...no?

Oh don't get me wrong, I totally agree with you. I don't think it's a coincidence. I was responding to someone speculating as to why the police may have changed their timings - pondering that it may be to do with 'confirmed' sightings as oppose to 'suspected' sightings.

The press have ways of getting the footage by pestering people or offering money in order to make a good story to sell papers, the police probably let them publish it because its not exactly clear whats happening (plus its edited anyway) and it might jog peoples memories.

I just struggle to believe ITV would have gone ahead and run that footage if it was known to be him.

Also I would think passing cars and foot traffic was quite high in that area with a takeaway, late night Sainsbury's and pub close by. Someone surely saw Libby go to that car if that is what happened?

Actually this is one of those details that I think has got mixed up in this case. Police have only ever said Libby is seen on CCTV on Beverley Road near the bench. Not actually sitting on it. In earlier statements by Humberside they have said she may have been in the area until 12:09 (a subtle reference to the spiderweb cam) but now have ruled it out but can't/don't want to say yet?

Maybe the police couldn't stop them releasing the footage but could make suggestions of how to minimise the case impact? Am I correct in thinking the media can release things without consent?

If that's the case and people did see her , they would have her movements past that time of her walking down that street? Surely there is less chance of her being seen if she then gets in a vehicle and leaves the area?

It's totally allowed and very much appreciated!!

Could you also scope out the river bank on that stretch please? Another poster said it would be difficult to clamber out but some photos would be great. Also whether it might be easy to accidentally just run into the pond in the dark?

Do you think red brick house would be the obvious choice to be the witnesses residence? How far are the next nearest houses? As you were standing in the park could you see them?

This is what I was thinking when I posted earlier in the thread. Are both cars involved? First car takes Libby, second guy notices her coat or other belongings and takes that?

Not a bad shout that tbf.

Further more do Plod already have this as a theory; letting the driver of the first car either think he is in the clear or that he will have appeared on a number of cameras also?

I took photos but am struggling to work out how to upload them. The park is sparse. The red brick house over looks the car park very easily. There is s ranger type station in the carpark. The red brick house would hear and be able to see the carpark at least. I’ll work on those photos.
I don't think it would be able to see in the car park at that time of night because there wouldn't be any lighting? They would certainly be able to hear though.

It's a strange house that one, I thought it was contractor digs rather than a family house.

The houses along Claremont would also hear screams because they are very close to the fields and there are more families living in that street.

I'm sure legally ITV, or any media, could release that footage but I'm suggesting the "unwritten rules" between media and Police in these cases makes me believe ITV wouldn't release it at that time (a suspect in custody)

Maybe I will be proved wrong and it really is exactly what most here think but I'm going to wait for more info (probably a very long wait now!).

Just caught up on the thread and the press release.
Noting the 12:05 last sighting time, I have a thought...could be something or nothing - the other car that leaves in the cctv - what if that was grey beard man after he’d tried to help Libby, maybe sat there wondering if he should go back and help her. He sees the other guy turn up (PR) and ‘help’ Libby to his car, presumes it’s her boyfriend and thinks ok she’ll be fine now and drives off. He later reports this sighting to the police and that leads them to PR. Just my own thoughts but wondering if that’s why the Police said at the start that grey beard man had ‘really helped’ them with their enquires - I always found that a bit of an odd thing to say. Would maybe explain why the Police can’t say anymore about that cctv? I’m no car expert and I know it’s been said it’s a Megane in the cctv but could it be a Citroen C4 like this (wrong colour on this pic but thinking of car shape) I’m probably wrong!

Just to confirm..the 2nd guy you speak of you mean the suspected Silver Astra?
If so I really do see someone getting in the passenger side of the Astra.

Yes 2nd guy Silver car.

I cannot be sure it was a person getting in, so I remain neutral.

It would be very difficult to climb out of the river, but would also depend on the tide. My dog often jumps in at high tide and can struggle to get out.

Yes, you can see the Claremont Ave houses from the park entrance, they back onto a track and then the park. It's very quiet there so you would hear screams.

You definitely could not just run into the pond. You have to go down a path, turn right and past a derelict building or across the field and through a small wood. It is a fishing pond so there are wooden areas where fishermen sit and there is a footpath around it. Personally I don't think it would be easy to stumble upon it in this huge park but in the dark you really can't see anything (I know this from my misspent youth, going to the same park with my friends to meet boys ;) )

You're quite right! The media have stated that Libby was sat on the bench, but the police have only ever stated that she was seen near to it. Also the police use the words "believed to be" when referring to the last sightings of her - nothing particularly concrete.
Yeah, it's possible they've ruled out the spiderweb cam, it just seemed so very likely to be relevant that I'm reluctant to believe it! Also possible that they just can't address it as it's unconfirmed/still under investigation.
