The footage shows four people on Oak Road close to the junction with Clough Road between 1.13am and 2.34am on the day Libby was last seen on Friday 1 February.

Wonder why/if there's no footage from before that, you'd think someone would have caught on that camera in the preceding hour.

Those people are all headed away from Oak Road Park on the lane between Croda and the allotments, quite an industrial area. Except the cyclist who goes back towards the park 10 minutes later, are there any shops or a petrol station down there that he'd nipped to?

Maps would be good. please ?

Please can locals identify exactly where this is ?? Cannot believe police put this out without stating the area - it could be anywhere. We need exact placements.

Police have also searched many houses in the area, doesn't mean that any of those residents are suspects. I understand you're trying to make sense of things and figure out where Libby lived, and you may well be correct, but as I've said previously, none of us are 100% certain of Libby's address - that is a fact. Unless you know with absolute certainty which house is Libby's then there's really no point discussing the subject any further. This is thread 8 of this case - Libby's address has been discussed many times in earlier threads but since no one definitely knows which house is hers, it's not a subject that needs any further discussion for the time being. She 100% lives on Wellesley, that's all we are certain of.

I know that....my argument the whole time is that we do not know her address. I was actually stating it's unlikely that another house has had LUMINOL/CSI as there is no evidence of that whatsoever.

I stress...no evidence of LUMINOL anywhere else, and this is critical to the case and narrative regardless of where she lived.

Thus, wasn't debating the address on my last point. And just so we're crystal clear....I was discussing use of Forensics and LUMINOL.

For those wondering where this CCTV was taken, this is the approximate angle from Google maps 3D satellite view...

Google Maps (3d satellite)

The camera looks to have been somewhere in the entrance to Croda.

Here is the streetview link: Google Maps

Streetview of the CCTV point of view - seems to be from Croda's cameras?

So an area with a lot of small industry it seems? Have these been searched?

You'd hope so! I also reckon there'd be much more CCTV in that area with so many businesses, stores and warehouses. They'd know if Libby had walked down that way though, so I guess they just want to know whether these 4 people heard anything down the lane that might have been suspicious, and indeed where they had been at that time of night.

I think it would be useful to know whether LS lived - at not a specific number necessarily, but just whether on the Drain side at an odd number, or bordering Heathcote at an even number. I have given my scenarios if at an even number, and I am sure others have their views too.
I have seen on at least one of the advertisements for property in Libby’s street that the houses are very “safe” as the drain is completely fenced off.

Running man's style does resemble what our 12.15 witness saw (sprinting then walking) an hour earlier.

Overweight geezer who is embarrassed to be seen jogging during the day, doing Couch to 5K interval training?

IMO they either have to think Libby walked here on her own ?? or there has to be some other evidence of a car down here that they cannot trace. OIMO these people walking are unlikely to be POI but maybe a witness to something the thought irrelevant?
Goodness I can hardly remember yesterday, let alone 3 weeks ago !

Could well be! Good thinking. And embarrassment might not be the issue, he could just be a shift worker.

“We have searched vast amounts of land around Oak Road including the playing fields as part of our enquiries, and the individuals in the footage appear to have been travelling from that general direction.

“The four people may have seen or heard something that could be vital to the investigation. If you believe you are one of them, or you know who they might be, please make contact with us on 101.”

The first clip shows an individual, believed to be in a light coloured T shirt and dark trousers, at first running into view on Oak Road and then walking out of shot at 1.13am.

The second clip shows a figure on a bike cycling along Oak Road towards Clough Road at 1.24am, and is then seen cycling back up Oak Road at 1.34am.

The third clip shows two people, one who appears to be dressed all in dark clothing and the second in light coloured trousers and a dark coloured top walking along Oak Road at 2.34am.

The drain runs right across the city and most of it is not fenced. It's easily accessible in loads of places and you could easily fall in (e.g. down Beresford and Clough Road). I have no idea if there is a fence running behind Wellesley, it doesn't look like it does from Satellite image. A 36 year old with mental health problems was found dead in it in 2016 at around the same place (Desmond/Wellesley). He disappeared after getting out of a taxi.

Cars can't easily get down the lane. There are bollards (which apparently are not always up) but I'm pretty sure when Strontium checked the vehicle gate he said it was locked at that end of the lane.
