Relowicz stares at Libby's family
As the judge left the courtroom, Relowicz stood and watched Libby’s parents, holding his stare for over a minute.
I'd slap on an extra five years for that.

Am i the only one disappointed? He will be 53 when we can apply for parole... and he might just be a quiet prisoner.
I am disappointed too. But he will not get Parole on good behaviour alone. He will have to actively engage in intervention work and have numerous risk assessments conducted on him by a Psychologist.

27 years doesn't seem long enough, if he gets out he'll still be young enough to start a new life. Libby had much much longer ahead of her, hopefully he will never be deemed fit to be released. JMO
And young enough to reoffend MOO JMO

Defiant til the last, he really is the most deplorable, evil individual.

Doesn't really matter if he is a quite prisoner.

His parole will depend on if he shows any remorse, if he's assessed and still considered to be a danger to the public, he won't be released even if he's the prison golden boy.

How dare he look at her parents. IMO that should not be allowed, he should not be able to even see them  JMO

He will be on licence conditions for the rest of his life. His ability to reoffend will be severely reduced as he will be heavily monitored.

So does his 27 years begin today or only when his current time for previous crimes is fully up?

I know it is a long time away but would Libby’s family be able to attend the parole hearing and give a statement?

I'm not sure they can attend the parole hearing, but they should be able to submit a statement/letter in advance, when they know his parole date is due.

I too feel disappointed that the rape sentence is concurrent but it was always going to be and I think 27 years is a good sentence and hopefully he wont be able to appeal against it.

Obviously had hoped for more for Libby's family but I dont think it was going to happen when you look at other sentences for similar crimes but i agree it is not really a deterrent for rape and murder when the sentence is not consecutive like it ought to be.

And look at it this way. His minimum sentence mirrors his age, more or less, so he is looking at being in prison for as long as he's already been alive. That must be a gloomy outlook for him.

I believe victims are encouraged to not attend Parole Hearings but they can if they wish. They are definitely able to provide a statement.

His children will be older than he is now when he gets out.
