why still no Facebook group organising a mass walking group searching the park ? This is always one of the first things I see the local community organising in cases like these .

Yes, this should have been done nearer the beginning, and probably something the police should have encouraged. Clues could have been found or areas discounted to allow the time to be put into other areas of interest.

This vid really makes you realise how close the Bench is to the car parked. Have the police ever confirmed what time the car arrived? I’m wondering whether it could be feasible that PR parked there prior to Grey Beard chap stopping to ask LS if ok and actually heard him pull over, get out of his car and speak to her and more importantly did he hear LS reply? If he was under the impression that a late night bus was running as on other nights, was he parked up ready to watch for student girls to follow? Is this why he didn’t approach LS sooner, as expected she could have possible company at any moment. I could imagine that once LS realised the bus hadn’t dropped of any fellow students, she would start sobbing at the thought of having to wait another hour or even realising there may be no buses running. When is the verdict likely to be given? And what is he likely to face in terms of a sentence, if any? And if not, and he gets out, what then? Do the police have enough to charge him on abduction, or murder?

PR is on remand at present. He will appear at Hull Crown Court on March (11th ??). IMO this will only be a brief appearance, name, age, etc. and his plea? Then a date will be set for a trial.
Only going by what usually happens - but have never followed a case with such charges before.

I don't think they have the evidence yet to charge him with anything related to LS yet. I think they are trying desperately to get something before his court date. With regard to his other charges, I have also wondered about what kind of sentence he would get based on the current charges. There have brief conversations on here about it - how people feel like sentences for these types of crimes (voyeurism) get off pretty easy. Hopefully, if they can get him on burglary, this will allow LE to convince the court (or whomever decides the sentence) that he is a danger to the public and a reason to keep him behind bars.

True! If he is guilty of the charges then he's been a despicable menace for many months to that area and the young women in it.

I have a child at the uni. Before this they were told nothing. Since this all sorts of similar tales have emerged including one with a drawing that looked enough like him to put people in their guard.

If even half of those are true just a warning would have made her wary even drunk. She was wary enough to refuse help from grey beard but PR looks young and harmless. Just one hint / warning of a young baby faced bloke behaving oddlymight have changed all of that.

My guess is only some charges are used either because they are the easiest or because they're saving the test.

I don’t know, maybe the penis tugging flasher that had been there 10 days earlier, put her off that idea and made her think she may be safer on a busy street? Wish I knew.

Just really trying to figure out in my own mind whether PR was doing his usual practices or had stepped it up to actually driving around looking for someone to abduct. I think it’s more likely he was sar waiting to then follow someone on foot, but, unfortunately the opportune he maybe couldn’t resist, came along in the shape of poor Libby, just in the wrong place/wrong state. No, that is what I was throwing out as a consideration... that she encountered someone she already knew and so going with them would have felt 'okay', whether they got off bus or approached her on foot or in a vehicle.

Personally I think grey beard talking to LS is what drew his attention.

If I was in her position the last thing I'd do is climb over my fence and sit in my shed in the cold and dark.

I'd do EXACTLY what she did, head for a public place and hope I saw someone I knew.

I think , imo, it wouldnt be unusual for LE to believe that the charges would give them about 3Mnths from the date of issue to the end of any trial ( not a 3mnth trial but after hearings etc) and this is a decent span to put together any other case

The news reporter states the car had been there 20 min. I wondered if he parked there and went off to do whatever, there may be more reports that night of something happening really watching/burglary? Also that is a great spot to park to have access to neighbouring streets previously, easy to run to and drive off unseen?

She probably didn't want to go anywhere but from where she was sat she could see people coming from both direction plus see up Beresford.

She literally couldn't have picked a better spot within walking distance of her home to try and see familiar faces.

It's so true! Don't you feel sometimes like your job is getting in the way of you following the case or acting?! I know it's absurd, but I was upset when I was going to miss a press conference back a week or two ago because I had to go to a meeting. I am actually a social worker and have often wondered how I could get involved with helping the families of the missing. It just seems like an obscure "career," and I wouldn't even know where to begin. Many organizations require law enforcement experience - even to counsel people involved in these cases.

Yes, I’m thinking so too, but do you think he was driving past also or already parked there? I’m just wondering why the spider cctv did not actually show the car arrive or say at the very least that the car had only just arrived!? Hmmm

Think they meant she might see people getting off the bus at that stop as if it was running it would be coming from the direction of the welly.
