When the cctv on Haworth Street was first shown in the media I kept on looking at the footage and it was soo grainy it was hard to really make a definite identity for me that it was PR. But it appeared to me that the person who was sat there rolling a cigarette/texting looked straight at the cctv. Which made me think that if it was definitely PR and he had in mind to abduct LS then he must be one crazy person who got off with the excitement of knowing he was being watched. Most people would have quickly driven off. Therefore I felt it was most likely someone waiting for their partner/friend who was perhaps getting a take away or who had finished work.
I have to agree that it does seem a strange coincidence that it seemed to be the same make of car belonging to PR and also that it was around the time it has been confirmed that LS was near the bench.
But one other thing that I observed was when the footage first appeared in the media there was one sentenced that stood out for me...

‘As part of their ongoing investigation, police arrested a 24-year old man yesterday, though he is not thought to be the man in the cctv footage’.

Now that sentence no longer appears in any of the reports, the only one I can find is in the Angle News which I am not familiar with but probably a local newspaper.

See below...will have to scroll down some.

CCTV probe in Libby Squire's disappearance after man caught on camera getting into car

The way things have panned out with PR and the timings and other things he has recently been in court for make him a obvious suspect.

But I am still not convinced it is him in the cctv footage.

I have thought a lot about it in the past few weeks and knowing that most of you seem to think it is definitely PR I have been reluctant to share my view.
I have probably come to the wrong conclusion but it is just my opinion.
I was fairly certain it was him in the cctv, I saw him in court, and there were a lot of similarities such as the stance, the heavy looking thighs etc. He is at least a couple of stones heavier than when those photos were took, and he also had a thick neck with a slightly flabby/podgy jawline. I would guess he is about 5 feet 9.

Do you think the legs in the cctv are from someone that height? Or taller?

Interesting question. I guess someone who knows the height of that vehicle would be able to figure it out?

Yes, would be great if someone could work out the cctv guys approximate height.

He had quite broad shoulders as well, from what I can remember.

It's possible someone thought they saw something in the water and itwasn't actually a body.

It reminds me of a local missing case last year. Someone went missing near the coast, and a few miles away a woman thought she saw a body in the water. The police obviously took it very seriously and sent lots of police/ambulance/coast guard/etc, but it turns out she saw a huge clump of seaweed. Even though the police updated the public later on, people saw the amount of police presence and were convinced for weeks after that he'd been found.

Am hoping that it is Libby. It is 99.99999% certain at this stage that she is dead so if she can be found now it would be good to get some evidence to charge PR with murder by the time of his trial for the other offences

The offences he has been charged with for a first time offender are unlikely to result in much of a custodial sentence, very possibly no jail time at all

Plus it means her family can get some answers/closure/a dignified burial

PR being back on the streets doesn’t bear thinking about!

Have people concluded that the search was suspended because they found something or because they did not find anything?

Didn't

Unless something happens by 11th March then sadly it is a realistic possibility, judges/jury will be instructed to ignore everything related to Libby and deal with the issue at hand, nothing else

His alleged offences however repugnant they sound did not involve violence so it is very possible he will be given ‘time served’ by the judge

The height of that vehicle on CCTV and PR's Astra is 1467mm or 4ft 8" tall

the burglary is a bit more serious though, no? I'm hoping that's what could get him some time behind bars...

We had a man fall from a dinghy in nearby and go missing a few years back. One day walking along the beach I saw something 25m or so from shore and my immediate thoughts were it might be his body. Turned out to be a seal (which I have not seen in the English Channel before or since...).

First time offender, no violence used, be lucky to get 6 months sadly, take into account time served I would expect him to be out by May 1st at latest

Police need to find some Libby stuff they can pin on him, fast

I’m loving the thought processes on this site. I know it’s a very real and very sad case but the posts have been very interesting and thought provoking.

We do get porpoises in these waters, and people do sight them in the estuary.

He's got a while on remand before the case gets to court hopefully. I

I'm not up on legal matters but each charge will attract a different sentence. If they're all heard together do those sentences always run concurrently or can the judge run them consecutively?

If the police can bring subsequent similar charges at another date can they form a sentence that runs after it? Or if they still run concurrently does the new sentence start from the new charge.

Is there any way he could be kept in if he is considered a risk to others?

I don't like the phrase "pin on him" as it's often used to describe fitting an innocent person up. Hopefully you didn't mean it that way.

Same here, I personally can't feel confident that it's him from what I've seen.
But if it's someone else, wouldn't it be likely that they would have identified themselves and been ruled out? In that case I would hope that the police would ask for the video to be taken down.
It's hard to know as the police have never posted it themselves - have they?

I don’t know whether it’s kinder to hope that it’s not her, or to hope that it is her and her family can have some closure... Either way it’s somebody’s child and incredibly sad.

Of course we all want Libby to return home to her family and friends safe and well but it must be terrible if there is no closure snd the family never knows where they are.

If this is worst case senario, I hope she is found.
