It's a no brainer imo ... the police have asked for very little info or help .. they still have him as a POI as far as we know. I think they knew it was him and watched him for a few days before picking him up

Or even if he didn’t admit, they’ve got clear evidence (?CCTV, DNA)

He would have been super foolish to not admit it if they have evidence wouldn't he.

It would prove straight away he was lying.

His best bet was to say she was there and he dropped her off safe.

I think if he denied it he may well have been charged ...imo i think he stated he dropped her off and LE cant prove otherwise

Yes I have thought all along they will have had him under surveillance.

Just hope if he is guilty of any wrong doing they get enough to put him away or he could be walking streets again pretty soon.

Asking the latter 3 people on CCTV to come forward was a desperate plea to find anyone who may have seen him around the park

Do you think they are just waiting to charge him with something?

Or Do you think they have nothing?

I think this is a big worry ..it could well take finding a body and if out to sea or he managed to defy CCTV he could easily never be caught

Agree with you completely.

But can't help but feel LE are sitting on a breakthrough and just need a bit more time to put it together.

Or maybe I'm too optimistic.

They are waiting for the body to turn up

That is all there is to it.

Charging without the body won't happen unless its the last resort.

Not even abduction/kidnap??

Wonder how much forensic evidence is likely to be left if she has been in the water a month?

I wonder why the police chose the arrest route? I wonder if they’d done door-to-door first to see what he said about whereabouts or a voluntary interview “helping with enquiries” beforehand

I agree ..I think it will take the body to link a death to him...and unfortunately after all this time even that may not help

Absolutely. Even then it would need compelling circumstantial evidence to charge .

Are these very popular?
I don't know, but they're an older style, it seems (called Adidas originals or somesuch) and took a while to find. They have a distinctive bar across the front of the tongue with Adidas printed on it.

Sorry, it was all quite badly worded.
Whoever is sitting smoking/texting/wanking. (I think smoking or texting.)

I was just rambling my thoughts really.
But were you saying that you thought he was wearing a skirt? (sorry, I'm not taking the pee, I just got confused at that point).

Maybe once ITV had the Haworth St cctv their hand was forced a little?

Or maybe he showed no sign of leading them to Libby?

I think they suspected she was no longer alive very early on.

Yes me too.

I thought she was saying the smoker sat sideways on the car was Libby. Then thought I must have got the wrong end of the stick :D

@Strontium69 Are there any fishing sites along the river in Oak Road Park? Did you see any anglers on your road trip?

If I remember correctly, some members here do fish in that area. They have posted previously mentioning the currents..
