I’ve just been there again now. You’re right. There is a dull red light glowing from the camera. Strangely, there was an 07 reg silver Astra parked right there.

Bloody Astra's! Did it have the "correct" alloys?

Well, would he tho!?
He’s not exactly been discreet nor particularly cautious when he’s been nobular fiddling or nobular exposing, no reports of him covering his face?

Love your nobular'isms'

I’ve no idea. I knew I should have took a picture. Was in my pyjamas so I didn’t want to hang around.

I wonder if they were searching because someone reported seeing something..cant think of another reason to go searching in the dark

I hope it wasn't Strontium out acting suspiciously making another video for us

Someone must have "seen a body" in the drain, no? Can't understand why they'd bring ambulance and divers at that time otherwise. All sorts in the drain could have been anything lol

It's amazing how few people notice that little light on cameras. I've checked the CCTV loads of time where I live and you see guys coming in, walking past the first camera and stopping to pull up their hood before they get to the 2nd camera which doesn't have a light.

I've even spoken to people who live here and they've complained about the lack of cameras and they always laugh afterwards when I point out the one at the (only) entrance with the light.

It would have had to be something of this nature to warrant a late night search with divers and emergency crew on standby.

I wonder how many of these kinds of calls are hoaxes? Sad but possible. And of course police would have to treat each one with serious consideration.

It is weird to search the drain so late in the evening when the visibility is so poor. Its actually very telling from the photo of the officers searching it, that the ground seems quite solid and not very deep at all, which would make it quite easy to spot a body.

I thought the same upon seeing the image. I read ‘drain’ and ‘divers’ and assumed it was deep water ... but when I saw the pics, it looks very shallow and aside from the long grasses, not too obstructed. If someone had seen something there, it would seem to me that it would be clearly noticeable.

Very odd. Must have been something that couldn’t wait until morning.

As someone who isn't that knowledgable about missing peoples cases.

What percentage of searches are looking for a body vs looking for evidence?

Of course he may well have picked her up for warmth/safety, he may have even taken her to the park at her request to pee/puke and even told police this hence the late night SOCO visit to the bench.

Maybe he had nothing nefarious in mind? Maybe Libby wandered off or refused to get back in the car, not necessarily because she got bad vibes/he’d done something dodgy but just because she was drunk (when drink’s in, wit’s out as the saying goes). Maybe he couldn’t find her/make her get back in car and she wandered to her death?

I think the police have something to have moved from suspicion of abduction to kidnapping but what?
He's a pervert, of course his intentions were nefarious

Agreed on point A i would at the very least have looked out the window surely its a natural thing to do especially if the screams were that bad to make you situp

Good question! And while I have no idea, I bet some of it depends on the geographical area. I think of cases in rural areas (following one now in the US), and they are absolutely looking for a body. There is so much ground to cover and vast areas. So, there are a lot of dogs involved, etc. In a more urban area, I think they hope to find the person but are probably much more likely to find evidence as well, in a relatively small area like a park or the area around a bench - as opposed to miles of orchards or forest. And there's no cctv on miles of country roads!

And, if they do think PR abducted her, LE hasn't seemed to think that he took her outside of the immediate area. People researched where he worked, and I guess he went through more rural areas on his commute. So, they must have some reason for keeping the search relatively local and not branching out.
