At least he will be off the streets and the police have more time to build a stronger case against him. Must admit, the 'not guilty' plea doesn't make much sense considering the kind of evidence the police must have (and which PR knows they have), he's just inviting a harsher sentence. Arrogance perhaps?

Judge's words to Mr Relowicz
Judge Tremberg told Mr Relowicz: ‘Would you stand please, sir. I’m going to adjourn your case for a week.

“The prosecution have indicated that they would like to try all the matters that you face together before the same jury, so I expect that between now and next Monday when you are back before the court the prosecution will have prepared and uploaded a joint indictment of the charges set out in chronological order, which you can then tender pleas to.

“Any further directions will be dealt with by the Recorder of Hull next Monday.

“Your trial is scheduled to take place in Sheffield on the 22nd of July, and for the time being you will be remanded in custody. Thank you very much.”

Or Stupid. Or could he be hoping to 'prejudice' any future trial on more serious matters? Would that be possible?
In no way trying to defend PR but this is neither stupid nor spineless it's sensible.

At this stage the defence will have no idea of the details of the evidence against him.

They have no idea of the strength of that evidence nor the weak spots in the prosecution case (if any).

Do not be surprised when that detail is available to the defence, the plea changes.

Appeals to be released on bail I wonder? Or is he accepting that’s never going to happen.
His most sensible option is to stay on remand.

Anyone else sigh when they saw 22nd of July?

You'll have to forgive me the knee-jerk reaction. I'm very local, and angry.

It's a natural reaction.

In an ideal world he would man up, plead guilty and cooperate with the Police on all aspects of his interactions with LS that night.

Sadly......

That's understandable, I'm in Scotland and I'm angry.

Won’t the solicitor present at interview have seen the evidence police presented at interview before charge?

Is it just me, but I can't see any photos. I've tried Firefox and Chrome, but neither is showing any images in that article.

I am on Chrome and I can see the photos Cherwell. But they are just photos we have seen before, nothing from today.

That's odd. I'll see if I can link it another way....
