Puts the "she made a pass at me" scenario into even more doubt, in my opinion

Yeah, me too. From what I've read it seems like Libby had strong ethics and loyalty.

Her mum has been in my thoughts constantly these past days.
Her words show heartbreak, but also a strength and resiliance for me.
I did shed a tear as i read them, their trauma is unimaginable. How does anyone start to deal with that?

Its beyond tragic.

I don't understand why anyone gave that suggestion the time of day in the first place.

<modsnipped> So so sad to lose the love of your life, I can't imagine it :(

As Cags said, I think the scenario in which Libby may have made a pass at PR is in doubt. She clearly loved her boyfriend deeply.

ETA: that scenario is in even more doubt. I don’t think it’s a theory that any of us have entertained, but I think it’s even more unlikely now.

I don't think they did. Except his family.

I feel so very deeply sorry for all of
Libby 's family and friends. It must be agony for her boyfriend.
The friends who were with her that night took what they thought was the safe option by putting her in a taxi. They must be having a really tough time going through what happened to Libby without being blamed for not taking enough care for her.

I wrote a little something to Libby’s mum. I felt compelled, I hope the outpouring of love & sorrow on Libby’s behalf is a tiny comfort to her family :(

<modsnip - sharing information from unsourced media>

I’m feeling angry today. Libby had the world at her feet.

The red line follows the river that is more or less parallel to the river at the park near Libby's home.

Did her body go through the sluice to the North Sea, or was her body put ono the other side?

The sluice is not relevant. She did not go through the sluice, she did not enter the drain. Even if the sluice was open, the drain is so shallow and slow moving a body would NEVER make it to the Hull along there.

It seems clear to me she went into the River Hull, flowed out into the Humber and was found once her body rose along the shipping lane off the Spurn. The sluice is on the Drain and is irrelevant. Am I missing something?

I am not so sure she entered the river Hull at Beresford Park - just look at all those bends...

I still favour that he took her by car and put her directly into the Humber.

I understand. She could not have gone through the sluice, therefore she was put in the water downstream of the sluice, or was she put in the water where she was found?

Forget the sluice it is not relevant.
That would be me. I pointed out that it was fortunate that she was found before she ended up in the channel. It looked a bit like her body was headed South along the estuaries into the North Sea and Southbound.

If she did not go through the sluice, she was not murdered in the park near her apartment

Otto, you need to step back and do an evening's homework reading and stop throwing these random cul-de-sacs into the mix!

Does anyone know what "day" in June his next hearing is?

TIA! :) Just want to keep my notes straight.

Hearing to review the case on June 18th. IIRC he's attending by video link.

This drain? Farther upstream? He house must be close if this is the correct drain.

I have tried to put the key places on a map. Its a bit crude as it's done on my phone but it shows the locations of the drain, river Hull and the Humber with Libbys street and the park at the top

Have you had a chance to read the early threads here Otto? You’re quoting a lot of incorrect information. Libby did not vanish from a park bench, the last known sighting of her was on a main road, close to (or perhaps on) a street bench (Libby’s bench). There is cctv footage of the exact same model car police towed away from the suspects home, just around the corner from that bench. A person is filmed rolling and smoking a cigarette sat on the drivers seat of that car, after which somebody is ‘helped’ (take that as you will) into the passenger side. That was just after midnight. The last reported sighting of Libby was 12:09.

Police will no doubt have additional ANPR and cctv footage which we’re presuming leads to Oak Rd park.

The ‘park bench’ you’re referring to is a bench in that park that during the 96 hours LE questioned the suspect became the focus of a short, very late night, forensics investigation. We don’t know why.

I’m not sure how the shores of France are relevant. The estuary flows out to the North Sea, not the English Channel. Be mindful that this is the body of a young missing daughter we’re talking about, referring to detached body parts on a forum where a great deal of people have shown such kind and compassionate emotions over the past 48 hours feels rather cold, not to mention factually incorrect.

Also she hasn't been missing 3 months. Just 7 weeks less 1 day 9 hours

Old news I know, as the page has been out for 8 hours and most of you will have likely come across it but I think it is significant:-

Libby Squire death 'potential homicide'

It says the police are treating Libby Squires death as a "potential homicide". That I think is important as it suggests that the cause of death could be accidental or as harm.

Nonetheless I think, (as the majority on here do believe that she has been slain).

I think to silence her screams the killer may have suffocated and/or drowned her. Then jettisoned the body into the watercourse after he was finished with her.

I wonder whether any tests done for rape may have been problematic becouse of the extensive decomposition of her body.

Suspect at the sluice
11 minutes from her home.

What time did he arrive home on the night that she disappeared from a park bench?

View attachment 175772

This photo of him is taken near The Deep (it is in the background). This is nowhere near the sluice.

Edit. Sorry I posted as I was catching up. I hope we have moved on from the sluice which is in no way relevant to the case

We have had alot of rain the last few weeks in March. Perhaps her body was caught on some riverside debris or on the riverbed for a time and the faster riverflow freed her body to continue along the watercourse.

I estimate the distance from Oak park to Cleethorpes to be around 20 miles as the crow flies, give or take a few miles for the bends.

I cannot see her being taken to the Hull at a later date, too risky.
