Subject to sexual harm order
Relowicz will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely.

Relowicz has now gone to the cells and the case has finished.

8.5! Judge meant what he said with 'severe'

So how long will he actually serve?

  • #724
Wow 8.5 years ...manslaughter gets less

I personally know someone who got 3 years for manslaughter when he killed his own friend.

Can a judge sentence on "potential to do more severe crimes "?

  • #727
It's the kind of sentence that should be dished out, but unfortunately it will probably be successfully challenged.

I do not understand why sentences are invariably concurrent. If you, let's say, burgle two houses then that is two crimes and you should be given two punishments. Not one punishment covering both crimes. But sadly that's the way our "justice system" works.

Relowicz appeared on verge of tears
Relowicz, who was told to stand and did so with his hands clasped in front of him, appeared on the verge of tears but showed no other emotion.

Told he could go, he quickly turned and opened the door leading out of the dock himself, which is unusual for defendants.

A loud bang was then heard from the holding area after the door closed.

That’s excessive and will and should be appealed imo.

Puzzled as to why people think it is to severe?
I was flashed at by a dirty old pervert back when i was 15 and it still haunts me now (im 38)
Too have something like that happen to you scars you for life.
I for one find it a great outcome, they need to have judges like him here in scotland because our justice system is a complete joke-perverts and those sort of people end up getting protected more than punished

It's only "excessive" within the context of our lame justice system.

Do you think he deserves a lighter sentence?

Precedence? Read Cherwell's post above for accurate assessment

It’s not ‘fair’ it’s totally excessive in comparison to other similar crimes and sentencing.
It might be ‘just’, absolutely, but I do feel he’ll successfully appeal it.
There’s no real justification for that length and I believe it will be argued it wasn't a fair trial/sentence and his involvement in LS heavily swayed the judge. Which it likely dud but absolutely shouldn’t.

He's bang on with the character assessment.

The sentence is excessive imho.
I wouldn't have a clue what a fair sentence is in UK. But in terms of rehabilitation, 2 years would be too short to fix him, well enough to be released back into society.

Maximum 14 years for burglary. Judge Jeremy Richardson i presume would argue that the aggrevating factors were severe. Sexually motivated, repeatedly targeting victims etc.

Im shocked at the severity but absolutely think it is just. I think it will be difficult to argue similar cases, im not sure there would be any, they generally come to light with further more serious crimes like abduction, rape, murder? As part of the background of the offender.

The mitigating circumstances were poor:
Previous good character-that just means he hadn’t been caught up until then. Nothing to suggest enrichment to wider community.

Guilty pleas:only in the face of undeniable dna evidence & at the last moment when court/lawyers etc had been scheduled for 2 weeks.

No signs of remorse.

Aggravating factors - bodily fluids left as calling cards;trespassing when victim sleeping;repeat targeting of victim;creating fear and alarm

Wow. That’s much more than I thought he’d get.

The Judge explains it “you have the potential to be very dangerous”

Mmmmmm I think that sums it all up. Everyone knows it...

Holly Molly! I wasn't expecting that!
I got goosebumps from the mention of the scream mask in his car. It sounds to me that, as he was obviously getting kicks of frightening and intimidating young women. He might have planned to escalate his crimes by wearing the mask in the future. Regardless, it sounds like he was escalating in terms of how brazen and intimidating he was getting.
Those screams geard in park might as well have been him acting out on some fantasy frightening his poor victim..? Maybe he took her there into scary environment to get the sort of reaction of freight he seemed to enjoy so much.. just hope that mask didn't have anything to do with it.
Just a pure speculation of course and MOO
.
Great sentence today. Most likely will be appealed though :(
