That's my concern. None of the things he's done carry long sentences. Minor theft without violence. Low value items. Voyeurism - we don't even know if there are any aggravating features like filming or sharing the images that might push that up to the maximum for that. So it's not looking good in my opinion unless he's re-arrested.

@Newthoughts.Can you imagine if he walks.. I really thought the stealing money would carry sentencing weight but perhaps they have no real proof. Hope LE are quick to act if they have evidence it could be dramatic Unless his sentence involved receiving treatment for addiction in a unit somewhere as an inpatient?

So does that mean put back for sentencing at a later date?

Case ended at 15.19. Judge retired to consider sentencing, I think. Now adjourned, either through not time to make decision or because they have police rep there with a new warrant.

I should imagine they also need to decide on the cases he has not pleaded guilty to

I'd guess to consider sentencing as well. I guess the Libby connection complicates what should be a simple case. Is he to be considered at risk if reoffending I wonder?

Copied from Google
How long after a guilty verdict is sentencing?
A “not guilty” verdict will end the case. Sentencing: If a defendant is convicted by either pleading guilty to a charge, or by being found guilty after a trial, sentencing will take place about seventy- five days later if the defendant is in custody, or about ninety days later if the defendant is free??

I would try and find a better source. An official one.

In most criminal cases, sentencing usually takes place right after an offender has pled guilty or been found guilty after a trial . In some cases, the judge will not impose a sentence right away, but will instead adjourn the case to a later date for a sentencing hearing.

What happens at a sentencing hearing?

@EricaAmbrose1 probably near enough the same, but that link is for Northern Ireland, and slightly different rules in legal and other matters often apply.

So PR is now a convicted sex offender. So does that make an abduction charge just a little bit easier for LE? A potentially innocent man picking up a crying girl is different to a convicted sex offender.

I really hope so. I wonder what will happen now- I've always thought LE may have been sitting on something and it would move a lot faster after his trial. Can only hope her family and friends will get some closure soon.

This is exactly what I have been saying to anyone who will listen for the past few weeks, and repeated my thoughts on her earlier. I am putting a lot of faith in LE here but I do honestly believe that his 'guilt' is exactly what they have been waiting for. Whether admitted by him or found guilty by a jury - he will now be classed as a sexual offender and I think that is the final nail in the coffin for LE's circumstantial case for the CPS to authorise charges relating to Libby.

I also believe that is the reason they are still holding poor Libbys body, as they strongly believe a charge is imminent.

Maybe the delay today is to give LE time to get everything finalised overnight for CPS to be able to charge him tomorrow?

I hope so too. I also wonder if the evidence for those offences will now be considered pertinent in Libby's case. Especially places he may have been.

I wonder will other new charges be forthcoming as well?
