He's either faking it or he genuinely is mentally ill, can never tell I guess. I'm sure even the best psychologists can be fooled.

So very sad case.

I find some comfort in the fact that the killers mum reached out the poor girls mum and said she wants to help, as mentioned upthread. In the end, she is a mother, too.

"Hospital order"
Does it mean life long?
It means until he's deemed safe to be released into society so it could be never, usually a minimum of 5 years though. Or as is on the links he may be tried for the murder at a later date if he's returned to competency.

Hmmm
Isn't it strange that he left home with a knife, chose a child to kill, then ran away and hid the knife at home?

Was he treated for his severe mental illness?
Did he take any meds?

And now, he can leave hospital after 5 years.

This is quite local to me. I thought this was all done and dusted back in 2023, so I was rather surprised to see this on the local news this evening. It looks like his mental health has improved enough for a conventional trial for murder to be held.

The wheels of justice are grinding slowly onwards. Deividas Skebas has pleaded not guilty to murder, but guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. Next hearing, December 5th.
