I just watched this and I think she contradicted herself. She said he never left her side but she also said he left to put balloons up.

IIRC she said he left her side for a minute or two when they were at the stables. Nowhere near long enough for him to have driven to Kent and back.

Bellfield's ex said she thought he got rid of the car around March 1996, and got an insurance payout. I haven't seen this verified anywhere though. If he claimed insurance, there should be a record somewhere of the payout.

The MIB administers the UK claims database which started in the mid 1990s, but whether the records have been kept that far back and whether his insurer was a member at that time is another matter. But that would be the starting point.

the CCRC are once again looking into his case, I have always felt he was wrongly convicted, and there must be something inherently wrong with this case that he keeps getting chances after all these years to challenge his conviction
