Lancashire Constabulary has released a fresh appeal for information relating to the whereabouts of missing person Lindsay Birbeck.

Lindsay, from Huncoat, has been missing since Monday and police have released details regarding the process of searching for Lindsay.

They have also thanked the public for their support during the investigation while noting that there is no evidence that Lindsay has been the victim of 'any criminal act'.

I came on to see if there was a thread for Lindsay. I am a lurker usually on threads and don’t post but I live in this area. There doesn’t seem to be much info available at the moment - was she out for a walk? What was her mental state lately? Any problems at home? I know they’ve said this is out of character. Just doesn’t seem much to go on. A lot of searching seems to be focused on the wooded area she was last seen near - The Coppice?

I feel media has stepped up today. On the news for the first time regionally this evening. Also a Facebook group has been set up today (not sure if I’m allowed to link?) which is rapidly gaining members. Searches organised for tomorrow.

The group is called something like Lindsay's Search. There's an interesting comment by ST under a post by MC about google images. You have to scroll quite far down. Man claims to have dashcam footage, not showing Lindsay but showing a different dog walker. Or at least, a different dog.

Ugh. So sad. I don’t have anything to add except to say I hope this lady turns up ok. Not a lot of details available about her or her life, but it sounds like they are thinking her disappearance is voluntary. I am her age. Thinking positive thoughts about Lindsay from Texas!

The community in Huncoat, nr Accrington, are gathering this evening to join a search for missing Lindsay Birbeck, 47. CCTV cameras recorded her walking down Burnley Road on Aug 12. This was the last known sighting..

Her family say her disappearance is totally out of character.
