I think that her age is part of this as well if she has gone of her own accord. The age for the highest rate of suicide in women is 50-54 followed by 45-49 and the reason is the menopause and the mental health changes it brings. I am 50 and going through it now and have never had mental health problems and right now am feeling depressed and anxious and sometimes it’s out of control. People just underestimate what these hormone changes can do mentally as well as physically.

Police update one week after Lindsay Birbeck was reported missing

Quite dense woods there as well.

From DCI Davies: "The one thing I would say is that if anyone is going to try to do searches themselves, I would appeal to them to look after their own safety as we don't want anyone else to be harmed in any way."

I don't know if I am reading too much into it, but the way he worded this leads me to think they suspect she did not disappear of her own accord.

Hmmm. Yeah it sounds like they really just don’t know. They said they have no evidence of foul play, but it sounds like they don’t have any evidence against it either.
Does anyone know what that area is like? It was a public park area? Generally safe?

Unless he means because of the terrain where she was last seen?

She’s definitely wearing a purple jacket in the cctv footage.

I drove past where the cctv footage was captured today. It’s only a couple of minutes walk from there to the road where she was last seen close to the entrance to ‘The coppice’
