Would a presumably balanced minded loan adult female walking down a back alleyway really intervene in low level antisocial behaviour or theft? Seems unlikely unless what she witnessed was something particularly abhorrent, like an old lady being mugged etc, then there would be another victim... I just can't see it.
I would and have. The main road is not too far away. Maybe LB was as fed up as many of us in Huncoat regarding the theft of metal objects from private property. I have witnessed first hand how these people operate and how they consider themselves above the law. Violence as a first resort is the norm, whether verbal or physical. One mention of contacting the police to report them quickly escalates the situation. Again, first hand experience.

Which is why I questioned why anybody would want to risk their own safety over a piece of metal.

I think the question which we haven't had a clear answer to is whether the arrested 16 year old was known to the victim or family and if so in what context and to what extent.

It seems very unlikely that you'd end up strangled possibly cut up and stuffed in a bin over a disagreement about metal street objects. there has to be something more to this than a random opportunistic attack, and our first clue to this is the multiple times the police have asked locals not to speculate..

It does seem unlikely but it depends whether she was trying to call the police, take a photo etc.

The only way he could have avoided the cctv from the bungalow would have been to enter Burnley Road from the side of the pub.

LE most probably took the recorder to download the CCTV of LB when she was last seen. It may not have been replaced and working.

Maybe there are images of the suspect passing by that we are not aware of!

MOO

If her body had been kept in this area shown in the photo would that camera (on the bungalow) have even picked him up? Couldn’t he just have crossed the road and then walked down Whitewell?

Don't get you. This entire site is speculation??? There are only two people who KNOW what really happened....Lindsay and the murderer. (Plus any accomplice, I suppose)

I was simply suggesting the scenario you have speculated was unlikely in my opinion, based on the fact that I can't think of any other comparable case which has arisen in the way which you described. My belief is the manner and brutality of this would suggest a level of emotional attachment not consistent with a disagreement on the street over drain lids or low level anti social behaviour..

I thought from the start this must be more than random, broad daylight? A teenager? It just doesn’t sit right. But.... it’s not completely beyond the realms of reality. IMO

oh my goodness! That could have been the only cctv that would show wether or not he passed the cemetry gates with or without the bin :/

I have been trying to find when the cctv of her was first posted but it appears to have been removed, I can only find stills and earliest being 16th, the day before the lad was seen with the bin.

Maybe this is what spooked him into moving the body, assuming it was moved, if he knew he would be on the cctv prior to her passing it.

Never mentioned street drains. I was referring to the fact LB may have caught the youth at the rear of The Whitaker's Arms helping himself to lead or copper and challenged him. Pure speculation, entirely my own opinion. I am not Lindsay or the 16 yo or a member of the Lancashire Constabulary. Now, move on.

I tend to agree with you. In my opinion, if this were some kind of street brawl the body would have just been left at the site, with the perp just running off. I think this was an unprovoked targeted attack. IMO
