Well, I'm going to guess that he's likely Jewish. I think the easier way to identify him is through his tattoos, but I have no idea how one would do that.

I've upped the quality of his face a bit through Remini.

Hmmm...I just Googled "Lana Del Rey tattoo" and found this blog published by someone whose tattoo appears to be the same one (of her face with sunglasses and the "Bad" ring); it also looks to me like it's on the person's forearm, as as John Doe's:Lana Del Rey Tattoo: Lana Del Rey tattoo

So even though there's only one post on this person's blog, maybe the name of it--"SkylerHolliday.blogspot.com"--is actually the poster's name (Skyler Holliday). Maybe more Googling will help determine if the person who posted this pic on their blog is the same person whose body was found.

Yes, that tattoo on that blog is on female thigh, but it is great thought - to search for this tattoo under hashtag on instagram and facebook to see if we can find him this way.

John Doe seems max around 30ish so might be on those online platforms.

I have seen appeal from British police in March when it happened asking for help to identify him and I have posted the case on my page at that time too. I will try to search for it just in case there are UK phone numbers for public to call as I just notice all above mentioned are only Canadian contact details.

For people to send tips in Canada

Mind you I would not be suprised if his accent was missinterpreted by whoever heard it and we should not rule out that he could be from somewhere else.

I REALLY wish we had an actual image of the knee tattoo, which is an uncommon place to have ink (mostly because it reportedly hurts like heck!), and more info about the placement of "Why" and "Not"--there seem to be some photos out there of people who have "Why" and "Not" on their legs, but some have the words on the backs of their ankles, others have them elsewhere.

My guess is that the tattoo's quality was ruined by the accident.

Appeal to identify man tragically ‘electrocuted’ at London Bridge station

An appeal has been launched to identify this man who tragically died on the tracks at London Bridge station – so that his loved ones can be told.

British Transport Police today released an image of the man, who is thought to have been electrocuted during an incident in March.
---
He is thought to originate from Canada and is 5ft10 and of slim build, and was last seen boarding the train in Plumstead.

The man has numerous tattoos, including a Star of David on his chest.

He died during an incident at around 5.30am on March 25, involving an off-duty officer who had called for assistance. While cops were responding, he went onto the tracks and sustained serious injuries, consistent with electrocution, say police.

Paramedics sought to revive him, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
---
Officers urged anyone who recognises the man or has any information to contact them by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 36 of 25/03/20.

The VOC is the logo of the Dutch East India Company (the historic one) Dutch East India Company (VOC) - Duyfken

Which is very interesting as company logo is exactly the same as his tattoo. Pseydonymph, great find!

From the link about the company:
"It was the aggressive commercial drive of the Dutch East India Company – also known as the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) – that led Europeans to first encounter Australia 400 years ago and to map nearly three quarters of Australia’s coastline.

The Duyfken and the first European ships to map Australian coastline in the 1600s were all owned by the VOC."
===

Interestingly website is registered in Western Australia and they do give tourist tours there on the ship.

Could he be Australian who worked there for some time? Or, well, liked history? He also had Roman Centurion helmet tattooed on his left calf.

Sorry for overposting. Few basic things to add

25th March 5:30 am was Wednesday morning and London Bridge Station is situated in centre East part of London. That station is one of the biggest London hubs to travell to anywhere in and out of London. He had travelled by Southeastern train from Plumstead, which is in Greenwich Bourough, quite far south east part of London. Postcode SE.

In my humble assumption he might not have slept yet, so was attending something somewhere on Tuesday 24th or was trying to get from work or to work somewhere in London.

We also have to bare in mind that on 23rd March Prime Minister announced for everyone to stay home due to Covid and by that evening already streets were quite deserted. There would be even less people on and about on 24th and 25th March. I think most of the businesses were shut down by that time too.

The explorer associated with VOC is named Abel Tasman, wonder if he is related to the UID male?
(They even look a little alike, imo speculation.)

The History of the Jews in New Zealand by Lazarus Morris Goldman
''Jewish associations with New Zealand cover the whole period of European discovery and development of the country, beginning almost certainly with Abel Tasman's voyage of exploration in 1642. As the Dominion's prosperity became interwoven with the farm production, Jews contributed to the commercial, Maritime and economic advancement of New Zealand to a remarkable degree''
