UK- London Nine injured in suspected acid attack, children among injured 01/31/24

I am new to London so just trying to get an idea of where he was last spotted. Is this at all a highly trafficked area?
Not really. The path alongside the river is just a footpath separated from the main road by large office buildings which at that time of night would be mostly empty. There might be the occasional jogger/homeless person but it’s pretty quiet. There is limited pedestrian traffic. There are times when barriers go up along that path too - high tides/wapping wharf - which could have forced him onto Upper Thames Street. But at that time of night again it wouldn’t have been all that busy. There would have been car traffic but not necessarily crawling along and very few, if any pedestrians, other than around Blackfriars station on the corner of Upper Thames Street which then continues onto Victoria Embankment. Following that road all the way around the curve of the river eventually brings you to Westminster/Houses of Parliament. (Where he would not have wanted to be as there is def a police presence there all the time!)

In a statement, the police said they are pursuing associates of Ezedi who may be assisting him and added that they arrested one man for assisting an offender.

Officers from the Counter Terrorism fugitive team, who are highly experienced in manhunts and tracking offenders via CCTV, have now traced Ezedi from his last known position at 9:47pm on Allhallows Lane, EC3.

9:54pm he travelled along Upper Thames Street and then into Pauls Walk, EC4. He passed the City of London School and then towards Blackfriars Bridge.

The last sighting is at 22:04hrs when he passed the Unilever building and headed towards Victoria Embankment.

This is one of the clearest, highest quality images I've seen so far. IMO you can see the cuts/abrasions on the high points of his right eyebrow, cheekbone and nose.

A fluid would tend to pool in the deeper recesses. The worst burns would presumably happen in those deeper recesses; that's partly why eyes are so often damaged. But if you hit your face, the higher points such as eyebrows and cheekbones, and the bridge of the nose, do tend to be struck first and injured the worst.

This image is even more convincing, IMO, that the injury is likely an impact rather than a burn.

The nature of the injury is important because people need to know what to look out for. A burn would take a long time to heal. A black eye could be gone in a few days.

He's basically walking back towards the West End along the Thames, which is the reverse of the journey he's just made on the tube. There wouldn't be many people around in the City of London on a Wednesday night, but it would have got a lot busier the further west he goes.

The update on his last known movements is useful but I can’t see how that CCTV is going to help as the quality is poor.

To be honest, his route looks like exactly the kind of zig-zagging, back and forth circuitous route you'd take if you were trying to confuse and evade anyone tracking you.

And by the looks of it, his efforts to evade being followed have worked.

I don't think his choice of route makes any sense unless it's a deliberate attempt to shake off anyone who's attempting to follow him on the night. At that point he had no idea if the police were 5 minutes behind him, 5 hours, or 5 days.

Or he's confused and doesn't know his way around

"A spokesman for the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle said: ‘After checking local parish records and central records and after consulting with clergy, we have no indication that Abdul Ezedi was received into the Catholic faith in this diocese, or that a Catholic priest of this diocese gave him a reference. We do not know which Christian church received him nor which Christian minister gave him a reference.’"

Did he forge it?

omg I bet he did!!!

That's a shame. I was hoping he had gotten a taste of what he'd done

has anyone read anything about the other victims? the title says there are 9 of them?
there would be the two children and their mama and the three people known to have helped them
that leaves three others? I'm assuming their injuries were not as significant but they will still be suffering emotionally

The others were police. I don't think any of them had serious injuries.

Is it already a week today?

he got off the bus and proceeded walking back the way he came?
again? what is he doing?
Tube train (subway in North American), rather than a bus, but yes, he went west to east by public transport, and then doubled back on himself by foot.

Maybe he is drawn to the crime scene for whatever reason?
Some perps revisit such places for the reasons known only to themselves

Whatever that injury is (I think he got some corrosive on himself as well as impact injury) I think it's going to take longer than a week to dissipate.
