'A police search has been launched to locate a missing mother and her daughter who vanished from their homes four months and 65 miles apart.

'Particular concerns' for the welfare of both 70-year-old Lorna Nightingale and her daughter Emma, 36, have been raised by Suffolk Police who have issued a public appeal for information.

Lorna Nightingale was last seen in the coastal town of Lowestoft, Suffolk, in February.'
She has been described by Suffolk Police as 5ft 2ins tall and of a 'slim build with short grey hair'.

'Meanwhile, her daughter, Emma Nightingale, 36, has not been spotted since June.
The last sighting of Emma, who is described as 5ft 8ins tall 'with mousey coloured dark hair' was made in Colchester, Essex, 65 miles from where her mother was last spotted.
Pleading for the public's assistance in tracking down the two women, officers from the force said that they believe the pair 'may be together'.

''Both are said to have connections to Essex and may have travelled there. ''

Anyone seen any updates on this? I can’t see anything, I expected there to be more in the press about them.

Unfortunately too many people go missing in the UK for all of them to be reported on, even in the local press.

1 person every 90 seconds, around 960 per day, around 350,000 per year are reported missing to the police. The vast majority of them turn up within a week but the media would be permanently chasing their tails to report on them every local misper case. Indeed, most would have turned up even before their story hit the local press or local news pages and therefore be worthless.

I haven’t seen an update, but the comments on the itv post about them on Facebook are helpful to give a bit of a picture possibly. I hope it means they are out there and yet to resurface.

Unfortunately, unable to view the FB page, but hopefully more updates are forthcoming.

Totally agreed. It's unfortunate. I too, though, thought there would be more press on this due to the MPs being related and the odd circumstances around their disappearances. These cases tend to get more attention IMO.
