A woman has been charged with murder after a man died at a house in a Staffordshire village on Christmas Day.
Kirsty Carless, 33, has been charged with the murder of Louis Price in Norton Canes.
Father-of-six Mr Price, 31, was found suffering a cardiac arrest at a property on Elm Road at about 03:30 GMT on Wednesday. Despite medical efforts he died at the scene.

Staffordshire Police have revealed that a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to recent police contact between officers and Mr Price.

Carless was remanded into custody to next appear at Stafford Crown Court on January 31 for a plea hearing.

A provisional trial set to last between two to three weeks was scheduled for June 2.

The 33-year-old of Haling Way, Cannock spoke only to confirm her name and to enter a not guilty plea during the ten minute hearing.

Carless was remanded into custody and will appear again for a pre-trial review in May.
The three week trial at Stafford is due to last three weeks and begin in the middle of July

Jurors were shown police body-worn video footage from when officers attended the defendant's home on 11 November 2024.

Mr Price had phoned 999 to say she had poured bleach over tracksuits worth £400, thrown a glass candle holder at him, pulled him down the stairs and choked him.

In a witness statement after the incident, he said the relationship "on the whole, has been abusive".

He said: "She has constantly been abusive towards me, stopped me doing things I enjoy like football, and physically abused me."

Ms Carless denies murder and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place in relation to the fatal incident on 25 December 2024.

She also also denies one count of intentional strangulation and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to the incident on November 11 2024.

After about a day of deliberation, a jury of seven men and five women unanimously found her guilty of murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Wednesday.
The trial was told Carless had been at the pub drinking double vodkas and cokes with a male friend on Christmas Eve.

She had sex with the man three times at his home before a female friend sent her a screenshot of Mr Price's Tinder profile, at about 01:30 GMT on Christmas Day, which the court heard made her angry.

Kirsty Carless, 33, will serve a minimum prison term of 25 years after killing father-of-six Louis Price, 31, at his parents' home in Norton Canes, Staffordshire.
The attack was "motivated by anger and jealousy" after Carless, of Haling Way in Cannock, Staffordshire, was sent a picture of Mr Price's profile on dating app Tinder, Stafford Crown Court heard.
Sentencing her on Thursday, Mr Justice Choudhury said Carless had "destroyed the life of a young man and his family" in the fatal attack during the early hours of 25 December.
She showed no reaction in the dock as Mr Justice Choudhury passed his sentence, accusing her of showing "no remorse" and falsely claiming she did not remember what happened.
