Farm Foods incident questioned by prosecutor
The day before Louise went missing, she disappeared on May 7 - leaving her phone and messages from aunt CJ Mays unanswered.

CCTV showed Louise with a friend in Farm Foods, and Shane Mays walked past. Throughout the trial, he has insisted that he told her to go home, because CJ was worried about her.

But prosecutor James Newton-Price QC asked: ‘Did you really say that? It looks like you walked straight past her.’

Mays responded, insisting that Louise was ‘trying to blank’ him.

Mays spent ‘around £30’ on alcohol the night before
The night before Louise Smith went missing, Shane Mays bought £30 of alcohol from the shops, from his £50 per fortnight allowance.

‘Why were you buying so much alcohol?' the prosecutor asked.

‘It’s my money,' Mays replied.

Him, Louise and his wife CJ spent the evening having drinks in his bedroom. Mays says he had ‘two glasses’ to drink, and stayed up until 2-3am with the others.

He added that he was ‘not sure’ whether Louise was on her phone and that she wasn’t drunk - but did seem happy.

Search history for 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 on Louise’s phone
At 1.30am on May 8, while still in Mays’ bedroom, Louise contacted a mental health helpline, saying she suffered with anxiety and depression.

Prosecuting Mays, Mr Newton-Price QC said: ‘From your version of events everything is fine, is that correct? Do you agree that she was a very unhappy girl?’

Mays replied ‘yes’ to both questions.

Louise’s phone history also showed that she was looking at 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 shortly afterwards.

The prosecutor said: ‘If your version of events is correct you were all sitting around together. Are you able to explain why she seemed to be so drunk?'

Mays said: ‘She wasn’t.'

Prosecutor James Newton-Price QC is questioning Shane Mays about the night before the day of her disappearance.

The court hears that Mays, CJ and Louise were in the former's bedroom drinking after Shane had purchased around £30 of alcohol. However, the defendant claims Louise was only "given an inch" of rum.

He denies trying to get the teenager drunk so he could "touch" her when questioned by Mr Newton-Price QC.

Prosecution quizzes Mays about his ‘plan’
According to messages sent from Louise’s phone on the morning of May 8, she had been given permission to smoke cannabis again, and was arranging to meet a friend who had ‘what I need’.

Instead, she went for a walk with Mays - the walk which led to her death.

Prosecuting, Mr Newton-Price QC asked: 'How is it that the girl who has been denied weed suddenly has been given permission to smoke it again, and then leaves the flat with you?

‘Did you want to get Louise away from the flat - away from Bradley and CJ? Was that your plan?’

Shane replied: ‘No.’
