Hemel Hempstead murder: Appeal to trace pick-up truck driver seen in area

Police are appealing for the driver of a white pick-up truck who was in the Northchurch Common area on Sunday, January 13 to get in touch to help assist with the investigation into the murder of Luz Margory Isaza Villegas.
The pick-up truck may have been a Ford Ranger or similar, and was seen arriving at Northchurch Common between 3.30pm and 4pm.
It is believed the driver is a man who had two dogs with him.
The body of missing Hemel Hempstead woman Luz Margory Isaza Villegas was found in Northchurch Common on Thursday (January 17) following an extensive search.
Luz, aged 50, went missing from her home on Saturday, January 12.
Rodrigo Alberto Giraldo Tascon, aged 55, from Ritcroft Street in Hemel Hempstead appeared via a video link at St Albans Crown Court today (January 21), charged with her murder and preventing a lawful and proper burial. A plea date was set for April 5 and a provisional trial date for July 15.

The court heard that in January, Mr Giraldo-Tascon, a former policeman in Colombia, and his wife, were going through a trial separation, but were still both living at their home in Ritcroft Street.

Four days later, officers found the charred remains of his wife.
She had blunt force traumas to her neck and face and bruising suggested there could have been "strangulation".

Mr Trimmer said that having killed his wife, the husband moved his car to the entrance to an alleyway that ran down the side of the home to the rear garden.
He said that enabled him to move the wife’s body which he had placed into a large suitcase, to his car using a trolley.
Out of sight from a neighbour’s CCTV camera he was able, said the prosecutor, to get the suitcase containing his wife into his car.
The jury was told the defendant had can petrol in the car, a yellow handled spade and the trolley cart.

He said the suitcase was unearthed and inside, the remains of the wife dressed in pyjamas with floral bottoms was discovered.
Plastic sheeting had been placed over her head and shoulders. She had blunt force traumas to her neck and face.
