I realise that Katie Rough trial was a much bigger case but, I'm shocked that this case is nowhere to be seen in the press.
Stoke Sentinel say they had a reporter at the trial but haven't posted anything.

After reading that, I can't help but think that Cody was an immature girl who wanted to manipulate Macey's poor Daddy.

Anyone who is intending to kill themselves just gets on and does it! Not a half hearted attempt and then call 999 yourself ... stupid, selfish girl!!!!

A mother deliberately smothered her young daughter before trying to commit suicide, a court has heard. In the hours before the alleged murder, Cody-Anne Jackson, 20, bombarded the little girl's father with angry texts after their relationship ended.

She also sent Paul Hogan a picture of Macey, 2, with a message which read: 'Sorry, just thought you deserved one last picture and memory of her'.

Per the rest of the article I don't believe Macey died accidentally. It's murder.

I don't think it was an accident either.
I think Cody was angry, hurting and desperate and wanted to hurt Macey's Daddy.

I think she found it easier to kill Macey than to kill herself ..

She's pleaded guilty to murder now.

The 20-year-old dramatically changed her plea to murder today as her defence team was about to start giving evidence.

Jackson had consistently claimed that little Macey Hogan had died from natural causes.

But two pathologists told Stafford Crown Court that Macey was most likely to have died after being smothered or having pressure applied to her neck.

Now Jackson, of Packett Street, Fenton, will be sentenced on July 27 following last October's murder.

16 years just doesn't seem enough

Sentencing does state - Life, 16 years minimum with a parole eligibility date of 2033 so hopefully not out in 8!
