i will admit, i dont sleepwalk.

i have, however, been known to sleepTALK, though it hasnt happened probably since i was 1o or 12 or so.

whenever it happened back then, something had always happened to trigger it, usually either a bad experience with school bullies or something bad at home (i was usually not lacking for either).

my sister told me once 'you were screaming out last night, i heard you all the way down the hall'

i said 'what are you talking about?' she said 'you were screaming 'no, stop, please stop.' i of course, knew what this referred to, since i had a particuarly bad altercation ith bullies the day before. i of course, told her i didnt know what she was talking about.

to me anything that has ever happened in my sleep has been an outreach of what has transpired while i was awake. it may also be why i have some of the dumbest, most boring dreams ever.....it pretty much fits my life. so no, i can not see myself, under some bizarre sleepwalking condition, molesting a child, or commiting murder. maybe, like you, i'd find myself in a ditch, or even toss a dog....but a person has to be completely sick in the head while awake to commit such atrocities while they are asleep.

thats' jmo.

i think 'sleepwalking' is a substitute for 'drunk' in this case

im bumping this up to make this clear that this was meant about the kiddie rapist, not mz iz.

kbl...Drunk? I'll take it, lol.

You know, you may be totally right about this guy. He might have drummed up this defense to get out of the charges. Please know that I'm not defending him. If you are a person with a vision deficit, you have no excuse to be driving. If you do drive, then you are a fool. If you harm someone, you can be charged and convicted. You also have to live with your mistake. I hope to high heaven that this man never nods off while in the presence of children. Maybe the acceptance of his defense will allow him to seek treatment or better supervision. ITA, that he was very foolish to be sleeping with his girl.

My heart still breaks for the little girl even if she is led to understand that her Papa had no malice.

Hmmm. It makes me wonder if the judge was awake at court.

He was accused of raping the girl when she woke him up to open the door to the toilet.
He said that he came to his senses when his daughter began to scream: 'Papa it's me. It's me.'
The man told a court in Mons: 'This is a sexual version of sleepwalking. I was deeply ashamed when I found out what was happening.'
The divorced man, 30, had been drinking with his friends before going to bed in the same room as his daughter.
The girl told her grandmother what had happened and she reported her father to the police.
In court defence lawyer Yves Degratie said: 'My client has had sleep problems for a long time. When he was living with the girl's mother he often had sex with her in his sleep.
'He could not remember what happened with his daughter the next day. He is deeply sorry. But he could do nothing about it. He was powerless.'

I don't understand why the child needed him to open the toilet door. Had he locked himself and the child in the bedroom? Is this a disabled child? All the four year olds I know are able to open doors.

I wonder what the child's mother had to say about this alleged history of sleep sex. If there is a history of doing things of sexual nature he can't help doing while asleep and he is powerless and ashamed about it, what in the blazes was he doing having an unsupervised overnight visit with his daughter, in the same bedroom no less? Wasn't he worried at all for her safety? Had the mother attempted to prevent the sleepovers knowing his weakness?

If he doesn't remember what happened, how does he know he came to his senses when his daughter screamed, "Papa it's me"?

Why did she say, "Papa, it's me"? It's me, as opposed to someone else who might not mind as much? Had she witnessed this kind of thing before, maybe daddy sleepraping her mother? Things like "Papa, don't hurt me", or "Papa, please wake up", "Stop, Daddy, you're hurting me" seem like the expected responses to me.

If he has 'sexsomnia,' this just further proves why he should be jailed.

Just to say, this ought to be filed under Belgium, rather than the UK.
