Maria Tudrica’s father said he’s living ‘every parent’s worst nightmare’ as he revealed it was his brother who was with his Audi when it was stolen.

The man, only named as David, is currently racing back to London after hearing the “horrific” news.

He appealed for information and pleaded with the suspect to come forward - who he revealed he spoke to this morning.

It was previously reported that David had met with the suspect, but he said it was in fact his brother.

So she was just wandering the streets. Shocked at that.

I hope they will continue to post updates. It said that members of the public went out in hi vis jackets to search for Maria, but that she was ultimately found by LE.

In the light clothing described and the temperatures outside, I'm thinking it's more likely she was found in a house/flat?

Oh, the 20:47 update on the Mirror page, the caption on the photo does say Maria was found walking in the street. I guess that's why there was no immediate arrest.

Are they still looking for the carjacker/abductor?

But the mystery deepened today as Met Police officers revealed the girl was discovered wearing additional items of clothing to those she went missing in.

A statement said: “When she was last seen, the child was wearing a white top and red trousers. However, when found, she was wearing an additional item of clothing.”

Detectives are now working on the theory that either the carjacker put more clothing on her before abandoning her or that a member of the public found her and dressed her due to the cold weather without contacting police.

I can't imagine a random good samaritan giving her a coat to wear, then letting a 17 month old back on the street to wander around alone. It must have been the carjacker?
