UK UK - Mariella Sofia Gardella, 34, missing from Dundee along with 10-year-old son, last seen around midday, 15 Feb 2023

There are 38 primary schools (37 state-run and one private) in Dundee.

I am not sure if the boy's school was definitely in Dundee.

If the one photo taken in Dundee is where they live (unusual to be in that area if they didnt live there or know someone there) and he is wearing a school bag, I think I have narrowed it down to 2 schools (shared campus).

Hi Jerrica, amazing you narrowed it down to maybe 2! Without naming the schools on this thread, could you please check if they mention anything on their websites or social media and report back?

Why would they not be in that area otherwise? Is it too far away or is it not a nice area?

So, if the police stopped pursuing the matter because they knew she was safe, would they release another statement or not?
From the general vibe emerging from this case (or at least on the thread) it seems to me that the subject might be safer if LE gave as little information as possible. In general terms, if a missing person doesn't want to be located/reunited, LE would have a duty to respect that and safeguard them, including with silence, if that's what it takes.

I admire the tenacity in wanting to establish whether the minor child is likely to be safe, but in this day and age, schools are not going to give away any information in the public domain except in the most extreme circumstances, where the best means of safeguarding the child seems to go against general safeguarding practice. (The only example I can think of is where individual teachers - not the institution - took to social media to try and help locate multiple missing pupils who were thought to be in immediate danger and public help was sought.)

I think the fact (mentioned upthread) that MG is likely to be in late pregnancy or have a newborn holds the key to this. Pregnancy can be a flashpoint in problem relationships but can also be a catalyst for positive change. I hope she is safe.
