I keep hoping someone will "accidentally" taser her at the station...

I don't know her reporting but would it maybe be like how I feel about Geraldo?

Yeah usually the living room, kitchen and WC are on the first level and the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs, not sure about the layout of this particular flat though

they live in the 2nd and 3rd floor apartment? is it a massionette rather than flat?

My understanding is that it is a 4 story building. The ground floor is 2 single level 1-2 bedroom units, on either side of the main entrance. The 1st and 2nd floors are 2 story 4 bedroom units, which is where Mikaeel's family lives. The top floor is another 1-2 bedroom unit on either side of the main corridor.

Here is a diagram of the similar style flat that they are thought to live in...

Mikaeel is said to have been sleeping alone in a bedroom on the upper floor of the family's flat.

It's a reply to a tweet. Asking if any more help is needed searching. Edinburgh police replied not today, looking like tomorrow morning (saturday) at 8 West Pilton Gardens. Think that is the community centre address where volunteers have been meeting up.

@***** @***** We're greatful for all help, we are currently looking for help tomorrow, rather than additional people today tx

EdinburghPolice ‏@EdinburghPolice 50m
@***** Currently looking for people to rest up at present. Looking like Saturday 10am, 8 West Pilton Gardens at this stage.

Thank you. I am hopeless at figuring out how twitter works. Everything is so...abbreviated! It scrambles my brain, Lol.

I am thinking Mikaeel disappeared from a lower floor bedroom, as that's the one that appears to be taped off by forensics?

O/T, just to cause mischief. Someone (not me) is just finishing off setting up a fanclub website out there, just for Kay Burley.

Channel 4 recently aired "Catching a Killer - Crocodile Tears" which discusses how so many of those in recent years that have appeared in the appeals have actually had some involvement - maybe the Police are not wanting the family to be 'tarred with the same brush'.

I watched that the other night and was thinking about the Shamileah Ahmed case and how the parents tried to accuse the police and media of racism in their search for her and how perhaps the police and media in this case are making sure they've done all the relevant box ticking to make sure this was high profile.

I would say that it is not abnormal. I feel like we are seeing it more and more that the families stay out of the media.

And actually, I think that's the right thing in many cases. I can understand it where you have a runaway who might be watching TV but where it's a child this age that's unlikely to happen and potentially "rewards" the sort of person who might take a child. In addition, social media is now very quick to start attacking people who speak out and looking for "signs".. which they may be right about, but which I feel has damaged such events as a chance for LE to observe someone they might have under suspicion.

Aside from giving MSM some "grieving family" footage to splash about, has putting out an appeal ever directly led to someone returning a child?

I don't know her reporting but would it maybe be like how I feel about Geraldo?

She infamously declared on 9/11 that the entire eastern seaboard of the US had been decimated, asked Joe Biden why he had a black smudge on his head (it was Ash Wednesday), had a grip of another female reporter by the neck when they were jousting for a position outside Naomi Campbell's house and asked a z-list celeb if he'd mind if his ex-wife's new hubby adopted his kids.

^^ KB, She is also devoid of all emotion, and tact. She is like ROBOREPORTER ;)

and the one that made me wanna put my fist thru the tv and ring her neck was when april jones auntie rounded up team of searchers to be told by kay "your looking for a dead body now not a missing child"

they hadnt yet been informed of this ...

Thanks - if it's the same that's a pretty big home for over there isn't it? .. Whatever the case - it's a nice floorplan..

Hmmm, I am so confused! Did you happen to see a picture? I was going on what I saw someone else say.

I didn't know about that :( Awful, disgusting woman. She was positively gleeful when reporting on the scene for the hunt for Raol Moat (probably thinking she was going to actually find him and be able to interview him) when two people were dead because of him.

I think I have heard of it leading to the return of a stolen baby by a mother who had lost her own child - a long time ago and the exact details elude me - but I think more often, it leads to information about a suspect. And not necessarily the safe return of the child, sadly.
